After phone call with Biden, Israel is now reopening Erez crossing into northern Gaza

It probably had a bit to do with Biden, but probably just as much with the protests against Netanyahu within Israel itself. Ive seen reports not just on protests, but on young Israelis going to jail rather than answer the draft to join the invasion of Gaza.

It could be connected to the killing of those humanitarian workers. On of those killed was an American with Canadian dual citizenship.
Israel does not have the full support of the American people. Any loss of an American life, that is not a member of the armed forces, and no action taken, including military action, will absolutely lose Biden the election.

The right "tone" is to STOP THE MASSACRE NOW

How many people here have called Biden daily begging him to STOP THE MASSACRE BY PULLING THE MONEY_PLUG?

Does anyone care about making this unprecedented unmitigated barbaric wanton slaughter of innocents (32000 mow and counting) STOP???? And stopping trying to obliterate that ancient culture/country into DUST?

The only way to control Netanyahu is to cut off money. If Israël were so strong why do they need billions of US taxpayers money?

Reading now, it says no specific "threat" was explicitly made, and that Netanyahu announced the reopening of border crossings during the call. Sounds to me like Netanyahu came into the call fearful of the US (potentially holding military support) and was ready with proposals to placate Biden.

Given Israel's rhetoric the past few months, I seriously doubt they would have opened the border crossings otherwise. Genocide charges? No change. UN Resolution? No change. Recognizing military aid to Israel from US is being scrutinized? "Yeah, we can open another border crossing."

Both the President and the Sec. of State stated it clearly: we told Netanyahu that if Israel does not do something to stop the massacre, the US position is going to change.

The threat was that the US would stop providing mislaid to Israel if Israel didn’t allow humanitarian aid through to Gaza.

I have no idea why the taxpayers are paying for it.
