After phone call with Biden, Israel is now reopening Erez crossing into northern Gaza

Do you think this has anything to do with what was said between Biden and Netanyahu?

Considering Israel has claimed for months that it cannot safely re-open crossings, and that it is not the one keeping aid out of Gaza, suddenly they have a change of tune right after Biden apparently made some level of threats towards Israel. I am inclined to think the two are related.

Question is: What do you think the threat was?
I'm sure at some point it will leak, and it will be very interesting.

@Spoiledbrat The problem is, a large chunk of Israelis, including most of those in power now, conflate Hamas with Palestinians as a whole, and have for decades. They really aren't interested in "peace" with Palestinians, unless that means complete domination over them. This war didn't begin Oct 7th. It has been going on for 70 years, with only brief pauses of ceasefire. They don't recognize Palestinians as a group that has any right to any land from the "river to the sea" and want to ethnically cleanse the area for their own settlers.

This isn't all Israelis, or even the majority, but a sizeable enough chunk that they do have a sway in Israeli politics, especially within the current regime.
