After phone call with Biden, Israel is now reopening Erez crossing into northern Gaza

Do you think this has anything to do with what was said between Biden and Netanyahu?

Considering Israel has claimed for months that it cannot safely re-open crossings, and that it is not the one keeping aid out of Gaza, suddenly they have a change of tune right after Biden apparently made some level of threats towards Israel. I am inclined to think the two are related.

Question is: What do you think the threat was?
I'm sure at some point it will leak, and it will be very interesting.

It probably had a bit to do with Biden, but probably just as much with the protests against Netanyahu within Israel itself. Ive seen reports not just on protests, but on young Israelis going to jail rather than answer the draft to join the invasion of Gaza.

@ChipmunkErnie the threat to israel’s existence is within, and always has been.

@trollslayer Israel has it's problems, but the threat from without is very real, as about 75 years of attacks, invasions, and terrorist action against Israel shows.

@ChipmunkErnie yes, threats of violence and war, not to its existence. With US backing, no external threat would be allowed to wipe israel out.

@trollslayer Not to mention they've been a nuclear power since the 1960s or so. And terrorist attacks, murders, sexual violence, torture, and invasions do tend to make one testy.
