trump is just 3 weeks from becoming the first ex-president to go on trial and on prisonable offenses.

But despite all trump’s efforts to slow down simultaneously running legal clocks, there’s now a real possibility one of the candidates on the presidential ballot could be a convicted felon.

I don’t think right now is a good time to convict him. It would cause a serious uprising and a feeling of a political act against him.

@specman you do know you sent that to yourself?

And if there is true justice in the US, he will be convicted and sentenced and serve time for his crimes, like anyone else would.

Former President Donald Trump will stand trial April 15 on charges related to hush money payments meant to cover up claims of marital infidelity?

Is marital infidelity in America a mortal sin? What's the crime here? This stuff is really deep in the barrel that the US Justice Department has been digging to prevent Trump from becoming President again.

And what did Trump do? And who is the woman this time?

@whowasthatmaskedman
They are about how the payment was made, and the attempts to disguise it for tax purposes as a business expense.😷
Really? We are talking about $130,000 paid to his personal lawyer. The IRS is not going after Trump. The New York District Attorney is. What's going on here?

@sree251 Its called FRAUD. And the state collects taxes as well
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@sree251 The criminal counts are for falsifying business records, so the prosecuting attorney says so, and has evidence to back it up that satisfied a grand jury. His company has already been convicted and fined almost a half billion dollars for other business record crimes in a separate case.

If Senate Republicans had just done their duty to convict Trump none of this would be happening and we all could have moved on. Now we are all paying for their cowardice.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@Bumbles There will be two shows. One playing out inside an America that still believe it can win. And the other played out on the world stage where the scavengers gather for the feast on the wounded animal. Brutal similies. But close enough,,😷

@whowasthatmaskedman The American Century beginning to be a thing of the real past. I’m a life long Dem but admired guys like George Schultz and Jim Baker. I couldn’t stand Reagan, but yeah, you get It.

@Bumbles I am not party political. I just want to see a system that works in terms of economics. The American one used to. But it sprung leaks toward the rich and they have become a torrent. Now big government and small government all get a share and a system that could stand a little "Flex" is now broken. The tipping point is past and America is now consuming itself just to pay the interest. There will be tears before this is over..😷
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
But does it matter? I mean the guy is guilty as sin,. Dont get me wrong..But the fix is in and the system is rigged. Americans missed the chance to stop it through apathy at the ballot box a few decades ago..😷
We very recently learned that Sean "Diddy" Combs’s homes in L.A. and Miami Raided by federal agents, as part of a federal inquiry into sex trafficking allegations.

According to Republicans, all Diddy needs to do is declare himself a candidate for president, and that should be sufficient reason for the feds to leave Diddy alone and "let the voters decide."

They have made politics the first refuge of scoundrels!

and he could win the trial and the selection as well.

The trial should have been 3 YEARS ago.
@PleasurePunch Yes, the timeline is a tribute to the skill of Trump's lawyers in stalling and delaying tactics.

@ElwoodBlues obviously many don’t understand the legal system!

I wonder what suit he will ware – his blue suit or his other blue suit. I think he is facing 34 counts so one of them is bond to stick. Cheers!
