Are left-wing social activist protestors motivated by a desire for social change . . .

. . . or are many of them more motivated to make themselves appear morally superior to those on the other side of the issue?

professional protestors.
isnt it a little too much of a coincidence that all the same ppl fall, on the same side of every issue. and get emotional over it?

BLM

They are emotionally driven yet emotionally immature.
Being part of the hive mind gives them their moral superiority complex.

The hive mentality is so toxic that all members end up mentally ill.

It's no coincidence...

That will depend on which people we're talking about, when and where. There have been places and times when reforms were badly needed, equality is rarely given , one has to fight for it.
But anger must be channelled into political action, that's when it can become a paradoxical struggle, when the end is supposed to justify unethical means.
Some left-wing militants are definitely attracted to violence, it's like some kind of extreme sport. But then that's also where they meet their right-wing nationalist counterparts.

Social change.
@Burnley123 I'd like to think so.

Any type of extremism is linked to psychopathy. But most left-wing social activists aren't extreme, whereas nearly all right-wing activists are.
Extremism is fringe on the Left, but the norm on the Right.
@flipper1966
Is there even a name for right-wing extremism? What is it called?

At this point, we can just call it the Right.
@BohemianBabe You see my point? Do the authors have a political agenda they're pushing?
@flipper1966 Probably. Extremism as a whole is bad. If someone is singling out left-wing extremism, which barely exists, they're probably a Fash.
All humans are either ideologically right or left. If you're a right winger, you definitely lie about my motivation as a communist. You have no reason to stop the lies. You don't really truck with political ideology unless it's to lie.

Right wingers tend to be more motivated by fear.

There's nothing Left-wing about acting criminally.
You're just a criminal.
But the idea that you see a criminal act as Left-wing suggests you can understand the why of why they're doing it.
Which also suggests that they have a legitimate reason for being so angry
@Picklebobble2 Here's the opening paragraph of the study. It only looked at left-wing protesters.

Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
@flipper1966 Well since there's no criminal class known as 'Left-wingers', since there's no criminal offence as 'Left-winging' plus the silly language used in the description of this 'study' you have to dismiss it as nonsense.

No correlated statistics
No cross-reference with 'right-wingers' in same study.... you know, so you could show just how upstanding and less criminally active right-wingers supposedly are by comparison.

Kinda sad to reach the bottom of the political diatribe barrel, but here we are
@Picklebobble2 This is the lead author of the study. Not too promising !!

All political activists on the right and the left are motivated to make themselves appear morally superior to those on the other side.
