RACIST DEI training tells white firefighters that they are a problem.

I couldn't make this shit up if I tried. Stephen King couldn't make this shit up.

DEI training suspended after telling firefighters that White staff have caused 'racial harm': report
[c=BF0000]
A diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) program targeted at firefighters and medics in King County, Washington, was suspended after backlash from employees, according to a report Tuesday.

"Critics, including several King County firefighters, challenged the training’s political undertones and its potential infringement on personal beliefs, particularly regarding gender identity," radio host Jason Rantz revealed in a report. "The training’s failure could jeopardize participants’ EMT certifications, demanding acknowledgment of endless genders and an inherent racial bias among White staff."

The report detailed instructions in the DEI training for white firefighters and medics to check their racist tendencies. [/c]

This is where liberalism/Nazism slams up against the hard wall of reality

A house owned by a black family is on fire. The fire truck shows up and very very brave men and women are prepared to RISK THEIR LIVES to put out that fire and save the residents.
And in Washington State, some say that the skin color of those firefighters is an issue.

And you wonder why everyone says liberals are racist, uneducated morons.
carpediem · 61-69, M
I guarantee when the fire fighters show up to save lives and property, they couldn't care less what the skin color is of the person who owns the house. It never even comes into question. Conversely, when a homeowner is under duress during a fire, he/she couldn't care less the color of the person's skin who is risking their lives to save them.

The only ones this is an issue to, are the idiots who dream up this divisive garbage in the first place.
Reason10 · 61-69, M
@carpediem Once again, a low information Blue state.

@Reason10 and one wonders why people are leaving the place in droves

Democrats are obsessed - obsessed - with race.

@graphite Guaranteed, time-tested ploy to attempt to keep us separated and look unfairly upon each other. Divide and conquer. We're all the same on the inside.
Starguy · 26-30, M
All DEI programmes need to be banned.
MasterLee · 56-60, M
@Starguy especially in the military
Starguy · 26-30, M
@MasterLee especially everywhere more like it lol
I live in King County, and that sort of leftist crap is par for the course. In fact, a friend of mine who is a Seattle FD captain, and who happens to be black, will tell you this is complete bullshit.
There are some total fucking ass holes who buy into this DEI bullshit. They’re a danger to others, but they don’t care. They live in a fantasy world. Anything the Marxist agendas that can be pushed will be pushed.
I was never asked as a firefighter if I was only going to respond to and do my job where other than those designated as “‘protected classes” were involved.
Despite this DEI crap, first responders due that, they ”respond” without asking the race, gender, religion or beliefs of those they’re sworn to protect.
@BohemianBoo I think you will find that @Reason10's definition of a Nazi is anyone with whom he disagrees.
@CorvusBlackthorne He did post a meme once about how Liberals are Nazis because some of the Nazis were vegetarians or something.
@CorvusBlackthorne nice switch

DIE programs are moronic
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
So they wouldn't display overt racism to members of the public during an emergency call out 👍 But the majority of a firefighter's paid time will be spent training or waiting around in their workplace. And it is in these environments that racism, sexism or any other behaviour that diminishes or disrespects colleagues or members of the public becomes an issue. Just as it would for any other worker.
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
@Johnson212 It's a workplace. Most well run workplaces, especially those that are publicly funded, have policies to discourage discrimination.
Johnson212 · 61-69, M
@SunshineGirl Yes that is fine to have policy discouraging these things, what many object to is it goes past that to mandatory training of all employees as if they are all guilty of something.
@SunshineGirl Yeah, that’s what we did…spent time practicing racism sexism and disrespect( you mean indoctrination) training is fire/ emergency related. You paint with a broad brush lady but reading your post I’m not surprised.
specman · 51-55, M
I heard about this! People that accept that DEI are racist. Especially towards White people!
JollyRoger · 70-79, M
Are you sure? Your conclusion doesn't bear out the concern that minorities are not being engaged as firefighters or as other first responders.
If, without justification, there is no or disproportionally little representation of particular races, genders, or whatever group who applies for a particjular job in the public sector (for those who qualify according to the published job criteria), then there is a question of bias against that group. People who pay taxes have a right to be included in publicly funded organizations "if they qualify."
Your presented example is radical and biased toward racism. Of course, you may create your own fire department and fund it yourself if you wish it to be all white and only respond to fires at white people's homes.
By the way: Liberals are the antithesists to naziism and especially racism. Which leaves us wondering where you are placing yourself on the scale?

Scott Adams has talked about DEI for a long time. He was turned down for several jobs because he was white.

@ImperialAerosolKidFromEP you still have. Ot provided proof. These are all democrat propoganda machines. Ney your times lost 55% of their business when they dropped Dilbert. NPR lost 65% of their audience.
The claim was he said it on you tube.

Show me on you tube the actual evidence.
@Confined blast off!

Democrats prove over and over they are the real racists.
Yep, equality feels like oppression to you people. Imagine having to acknowledge that people you hate are just as deserving of consideration as you are.
@Johnson212 I'm well aware of what the English did to the Irish. An gorta mór was just the tip of the iceberg. You probably don't even know what that means.

The fact that the Irish were oppressed in their homeland had nothing to do with the treatment they received here in the US. I've never heard a Black person complain about how their ancestors were treated in Africa. You're mixing apples and oranges.
Johnson212 · 61-69, M
@LeopoldBloom Yes apples and iranges un the sense that the blacks want to ever be victims and want decent people to pay for the sins of the father. The irish madebtheir lives better and if not for beer would have taken over the world.
@Johnson212 Again, the Irish experienced oppression in their native land, and came here to escape that as many others did, including my own grandparents. Black Americans were brought here in chains and endured centuries of slavery, followed by what amounted to apartheid, which only ended within our own lifetimes. That being said, many Black Americans have managed to overcome this history of oppression and achieved success. I live in a majority-Black city, and my middle class Black neighbors are pretty much indistinguishable from their white counterparts. That being said, by metrics such as generational wealth, Black Americans still lag behind whites. Saying "do what the Irish did" only shows your ignorance of the histories of both people beyond just "they were oppressed."

Do you say the same thing to Native Americans, for whom conditions even today are worse than most other groups? To give you an example, the infant mortality rate on the Pine Ridge Reservation is the worst in the Western Hemisphere, exceeded only by Haiti. Are they supposed to lift themselves up by their bootstraps as if they're immigrants who came here for a new life?

What's ironic is how people like you extol the initiative of past immigrants while despising the current ones.

We went through this with the Military years ago, DEI training was mandatory and in many cases quite necessary. Ours wasn't racist against "Whites" but a couple of decades ago, most of our Military WAS White and very racist, anti-LGBTQ and Transphobic, still is in many cases as many of the old racists are still in charge. In many first responder departments, the vast majority of the employees and Leaders are White and most definitely aren't inclusive of other cultures, religions or LGBTQ people. DEI IS necessary and must include not only the actual workplace but must also be reflected in the hiring policies of all Departments. No, don't just hire them because of their Race, religion, sexual orientation or Gender, but AT LEAST give them the an equal opportunity to GET hired, that isn't happening in many places right now and it has to change. Any Publicly funded Organization must reflect the Population it serves and that isn't happening in many of them.
@spjennifer I’m aretired firefighter. As for who is allowed in and hired, there are transgender members, gay and lesbian members, ( LGBQT)many non white members. And one department that deserves credit for their hiring practices past and present is the FDNY.
spjennifer · 56-60, T
@soar2newhighs Wonderful, would that ALL Public Service departments act the same way as FDNY. I wouldn't and couldn't stand for unfair hiring practices no matter who they advantage but it must be fair for everyone, no matter their race, religion, sexual orientation or gender, everyone who passes the tests must be given the same opportunity to succeed!
Johnson212 · 61-69, M
Equity, we should all be treated with equity of opportunity. But are all equal? Where is the scientific proof of that. Seems that some groups accel better than others even when you remove the variables of oppression or privilege. I think if you actually recognize the problem and worked on changing that it would be better than recognizing the symptoms and trying to change them.

Well, you are making this shit up, by not presenting the entire story.

But as long as you're getting the story from Jason Rantz, as translated by Fox News.

The fact is that the program was not suspended. by King County. The Renton Fire department, hit pause, as they revise some material, and NO, their certification is not in jeopardy.

Bur why don't we note what a King County firefigher said:
A King County firefighter who contacted the Jason Rantz Show on KTTH derided the training as unnecessary. He noted that “King County has been doing this ‘anti-racist’ crap long before Ibram X Kendi came around.”
It is absolutely amazing how many facts there are.
Now tell us the rest of the story, not just the version pushed by Faux News. And do try to do so with a minimum of name calling, as that makes you sound very hateful.
I don't say liberals are racist uneducated morons. And people that do are often times the problem.
justanothername · 51-55, M
I would expect nothing less from Faux Noise.
