Donald Trump said, if elected, he would pardon the January 6th inmates. Do you support it?

Not at all. They visited violence on the capital in an effort to stop the certification of the election on behalf of a potus attempting to illegally hold on to power.

Hang the lot of them.

@Zaphod42 Disagree about hang - would never happen anyway and makes our side look as extreme as the other
Zaphod42 · 46-50, M
@tindrummer Figure of speech, but agreed and withdrawn.
@Zaphod42 Only a small minority of the crowd were violent, they're prosecuting and convicting numerous people just for being in the crowd, that isn't right.

@NativePortlander1970 Disagree. If they illegally entered the capitol building in support of the actual people visiting violence, they’re guilty of aiding and abetting.
@Zaphod42 Not everyone was there to support the protest, many were merely tourists there to see the Capitol on tour, there's even video footage of Capitol police opening doors for them and letting them in, yet they still got arrested and charged for trespassing.
@Zaphod42 Personally I think those, like the Shaman, and others who actively participated in the rioting should remain convicted, but that the innocent bystanders that were wrongly arrested, tried in court, and convicted, should be pardoned.
Zaphod42 · 46-50, M
@NativePortlander1970 There were no tours being allowed that day, so anyone without official business there was trespassing at the very least.

@Zaphod42 You must be discussing this with a trumpista that blocked me - good luck. 🤓

@tindrummer Well, in general he’s a reasonably decent guy, we just disagree on politics in a huge way. First time either of us have ever stepped on the others comments though 🤷‍♂️
@Zaphod42 That I never knew, I'm surmising others in the crowd didn't know either.
@Zaphod42 I was supposed to do laundry today and then go to the Filipino market, but I woke up too late today, almost 2pm, being terminally ill sucks, so I hope they're open tomorrow.
Zaphod42 · 46-50, M
@NativePortlander1970 As I understand it, the signs they passed and the barriers they breached and the cops they pushed aside all said something different.
@Zaphod42 The problem is that there's a lot of conflicting stories out there by the Capitol police themselves, along with video footage of the police letting some people in and what loiks like giving them tours, but are those videos actually Jan 6, or some other day? The whole thing is massively discombobulated.

@Zaphod42 I can't see who it is, either. And since I don't block unless I'm forced to, I have to assume this person blocked me, probably over a similar conversation.
tindrummer · M
@LordShadowfire ditto - so many of them are cowards
