@sree251 I don't know when he made the statements you claim he did, but when Russian went into Crimea and Georgia they did it in military fashion, not free elections. The USSR was the Stanley shed after WWII partially as a concession to Stalin. The individual countries were forced into the USSR and the people struggled under the communist system. Should Putin now invade Poland, The Czech Republic, Slovakia, Albania, etc., I guess you would say that is also okay. Do you are Putin's puppet.

Putin will not invade. He has no territorial ambitions while we have 1000 military bases all over the world, and that in itself is more alarming. We bomb other countries at will even without Congressional approval. We are the only bad actor, not Russia. We can project power and fight a war with any small nation in the world with just a carrier strike group. Why do we have such assets for?

@samueltyler2 No, I do not defend violence. Teenagers have killed abusive parents. I don't defend that either. I believe that the Arabs have been living under Israeli occupation and oppression since 1948. Their recent outburst of resistance was suicidal. You are an old guy. If some young thugs broke into your home and you attacked them regardless of the futility of your resistance, would I fault you for doing them harm? Now, they want to maim you and the US says it's ok because they have the right to self-defense.

@sree251 Poor history on your part, and poor analogy. Arabs declared war on Israel as soon as the independent state was declared. The Arabs that chose to fled, did so both because they didn't want to live in Israel, and some may have been "casualties" of the war. The Arabs that wanted to live in peace in Israel do so as Israeli citizens. They have the same legal rights as Jews living in Israel, they do not live under occupation. Saying they have lived under occupation since 1948 denies the right to existence of the state.

@OriginalDumbMan Which side are you claiming was fighting for its dignity, rights and lives? Hamas slaughtered people, 80% of the dead showed signs of pre-death torture. They threw babies into piles and burned them, cut off the heads of victims, etc. I don't think that is what the people inside the Alamo were doing.

@Graylight The Palestinians were given a land of their own at the same time. Sadly, the Arab reaction was to try and taken all of the area for themselves and drive out the Jews. It didn't work, and then the Arab nations turned their back on the displaced Palestinians, leaving them in camps, etc. instead welcoming them into their nations. The original UN concept included a Palestinian nation covering the West Bank and Trans-Jordan.

Given by the British whose Middle Eastern empire stretched from the Suez to the Persian gulf. The white man created the mess in Gaza today. Arabs, and every other people under colonial rule were viewed with contempt. Jews, on the other hand, were not only part of European culture but also have influence and power in government and finance. Jews wanted a homeland in Palestine, and they told the Brits where they wanted it. And we Americans are perpetuating the same obnoxious superior attitude in our relationship with other people. We are not part of the UN. The UN is a part of the US!
