He is and he's declared open war on it, saying he will cure this country of woke-ism and liberals.
But people should ask themselves...what's the alternative to progress, evolution and learning? Stasis? "Old values" like prejudice, imperialism or radical religious belief? Do they choose no new cures or medications from science? Do they not need improved vehicles and more fuel efficient homes? Wouldn't they life to educate their children with the most effective tools available? Don't they [i]at least[/i] wat a better tasting beer? Or is it really just about denying ourselves and then blaming others when we don't get what we need?
If you're fighting against progress, ask what it is you're really fighting for, 'cause from the cheap seats it looks like it's just spending more time in the deep end of the fear pool.

@Graylight And, yet "the base" proudly states in words and their actions that yes, they want to stop progress. They want paper ballots, in-person voting, no vaccines, open social warfare, and no advancement beyond fossil fuels. No doubt, "the base" would also rally around elimination of seatbelts, airbags, tobacco restrictions, and voting rights for women. And, notably there are scammers who will exploit those anti-progress (and anti-American) desires in exchange for their own personal gain.

@MarkPaul These are the people who'd be happy to run down to the HD to pick up some good hangin' rope. They're happy believing the sun will rise because someone told them it would. They draw their very values from an ancient, cobbled anonymous text.
The only ones stasis ever helped were the cave dwellers, an even they got tired of the view.
