Remember kids, it's never about hypocrisy, it's about power and virtue signalling.
One of the most interesting (and terrifying) outcomes of Donald Trump is the end of the bipartisan consensus. Both political parties have always been in near lockstep on foreign policy and now support for or against Russia is major party line.
Which is uh... a thing because support against Russia also means support against the general military and economic cohesion of western liberal democracies.
I'm not stumping for either side mind you, NATO and Russia can both go fuck themselves, but seeing the world shift like this is... unsettling.

@CountScrofula Support for Russia is only a thing for the most brain addled of the Trumpturds. Thankfully , still , a majority of the Republican caucus see Russia as a clear and present danger.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@LegendofPeza Much as I despise the Republicans, I don't think they support Putin. I think their foreign policy change is due to reasons above.

I am really ticked off I haven't made the list yet! 🤬

Maybe if he'd read the lyrics about him that I wrote to the tune of a popular song.

Maybe some pop band in Ukraine will broadcast it.

@LegendofPeza Don???
BackyardShaman · 61-69, M
In a way it’s hilarious, however the GOP has a lot of personal information from Democrats’ voter registration records and such they either have or will give to Russia and White Supremacy groups, etc..
originnone · 61-69, M
@BackyardShaman That's as crazy as the things I hear from the trump backers....
BackyardShaman · 61-69, M
@originnone nope, the GOP vote audits were an opportunity to collect this information. They knew there wasn’t going to be wide spread fraud exposed, but their shady auditors collected this information on Democratic voters, valuable information to sell to telemarketers, wide scale fraud organizations, white supremacy groups, the Kremlin, and others that seek to identify voters that are opposed to the GOP.

But it could have been a more deadly virus fortunately it didn’t turn out like that.
Yes you whine about policies that have been made in a time of uncertainty based on scientific data that got regulary updates as did the policies.

@ninalanyon They've lived under an opressive rule for so long they don't know how to act like civilized people with regard for human life.

@TrashCat Civilised people also apologise for insulting someone after having misread something. That's basic human decency too.
