How to fix school shootings

The answer isn’t to ban assault rifles! The answer is simple you hire retired army vets for every public and private school in America. You heavily arm these army vets and I guarantee you won’t have another school shooting.

Outlaw guns and only Outlaws will have guns...

@MrBrownstone We tried that, it hasn't worked.

@BohemianBoo "The man who jumped into action when a gunman opened fire on worshipers during a church service in Texas said Monday he was placed in a position he didn't want to be in, but had to react because "evil exists."

Two men were killed when the gunman opened fire at West Freeway Church of Christ in White Settlement on Sunday morning, as more than 240 parishioners were inside. Within seconds, he was shot to death by two congregants who fired back."
@sunsporter1649 Where is that in this article?
JPWhoo · 36-40, MVIP
@BohemianBoo I think he found his own article. You’re saying you have a case showing it doesn’t work and he’s saying he has one that shows that it does work.
JPWhoo · 36-40, MVIP
@sunsporter1649 Neither of those signs will prevent any tragedies. What will prevent tragedies would be if we would make it more difficult to obtain an assault rifle, like we did from 1994 to 2004.

Your sign on the right won’t work because people that commit mass shootings at best don’t care if they survive and many of them actually want to be killed when they’re done shooting others. You think some guy that just shot up a school is thinking he’s going to go eat some donuts and get laid afterwards?
@JPWhoo He might have just made it up. He lies a lot.
But even so, in the example he used, two people still died. So even if this was real, it would still prove the good guy with a gun myth is wrong.
JPWhoo · 36-40, MVIP
@BohemianBoo Fair enough.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@JPWhoo When you figure out what an assault rifle is, get back to us
JPWhoo · 36-40, MVIP
@sunsporter1649 The AR-15 would be a good one to start banning. Why do I need to know the exact definition of an assault rifle? They were banned from 1994 to 2004 and gun deaths were way down during that time period. Just do that again.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@JPWhoo Yup, typical left-wing nut-job marxist, don't know much, with the exception that they are always right, and never wrong
@JPWhoo Would you be ok with not banning any guns, but having red flag laws and closing gun control loopholes?
JPWhoo · 36-40, MVIP
@sunsporter1649 That’s rich, the guy that thinks that sign on the right is going to magically prevent school shootings telling me I don’t know much.

@Emosaur Why are you so arrogant, but yet so ignorant and stupid???
JPWhoo · 36-40, MVIP
@BohemianBoo Well it’s better than nothing. I’m inclined to think the assault rifle ban would be better if I had to choose between the two, but I think at this point we’ll take whatever we can get.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@JPWhoo Considering that right-wing politicians and media are regularly calling for violence and right-wing terrorism is on the rise, I think the rest of us should be buying guns for self-defense. So I rather not ban anything now, if a ban would even be possible in the first place, considering the failure of the drug war.
But with red flag laws and closed loopholes, at least less psychos will have guns.
JPWhoo · 36-40, MVIP
@sunsporter1649 I’m too tired for your straw men and bullshit. Goodnight.

That ban failed to reduce crime or violence. Clinton didn't even bother to publish the DOJ's findings after the ban was lifted. BTWhoo...do you know what an assault rifle is?
JPWhoo · 36-40, MVIP
@BohemianBoo
I think the rest of us should be buying guns for self-defense.
I guess if you’re willing to go through the training and keep your gun under lock and key except when using it then more power to ya, but I think having a gun around even for self-defense is more danger than it’s worth.
So I rather not ban anything now, if a ban would even be possible in the first place, considering the failure of the drug war.
Banning guns is different from banning drugs and alcohol. Guns have expensive special parts and are generally more difficult to make on the black market if you can’t get them manufactured legally.

I need to get to bed, so I’m going to try to ignore any more notifications I get tonight. Goodnight.

That might be true on average. Though if you're living in a country full of fascist militias, it might be worth it.

True, but like with drugs, a lot of guns come from other countries and are smuggled into America. So many black market guns are actually made in Austria and Turkey.
