In the mean time

Bakhmut the city in Ukraine that Zelinski said would never fall has fallen. The Ukrainian forces are now blowing up bridges between Bakhmut and the rest of Ukraine in an effort to slow the advance of Russian forces. Estimates of Ukrainian armed forces personnel losses exceed 600,000 dead wounded, deserted and captured. At the outset Ukraine said it had just under 600,000 troops it could throw into the fight. It is time we all sought peace and not war. Ukraine has fallen and there is nothing to be gained by trying to re-fight the war. Sadly for Americans and Canadians and the British we have not been well served by our propaganda outlets who make it sound like Ukrainian victory is imminent. The only thing that continued war will benefit is the arms industry as they crank out more arms and munitions to keep the meat grinder turning.

Huh, how about if Russia brought their troops home and stopped invading sovereign nations? I know its a crazy concept, just spitballing here.

@justanothername So says the guy who can't discern the NATO propaganda that he has been fed. So how is your fixation on CNN working out for you?

A small collection of Putin propaganda lies:

Zelensky disappeared? Nope.
Let’s go back to the beginning, to the first Big Lie that Moscow told after the Feb. 24 invasion was launched. By the following morning, multiple Russian Internet publications close to the Kremlin were reporting that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had disappeared, most likely escaped to London, where he allegedly held real estate property. According to the reports, much of the top echelon of Ukrainian leadership had likewise fled Kyiv, leaving the poor, abandoned Ukrainians to scatter into basements to hide from the advancing and inevitable takeover of the invincible Russian army.

That evening of Feb. 25, Zelensky recorded a video in front of the main government building of Kyiv, surrounded by members of his government, naming each and saying that each was “here.” It arguably remains the single defining moment of the war, not only for its display of Ukrainian resolve and the launch of Zelensky as a remarkable wartime leader — but also because it so quickly and calmly discredited the false narrative of Russia’s invasion.
Chemical weapons? Nope.
More sweeping fake news stories were also planted about Ukraine producing chemical weapons and plotting with Washington to welcome NATO bases on its territory. Indeed, the narrative often places the Americans at the center, pulling the strings in Kyiv in what is portrayed as the continuation of the longstanding U.S. aggression against Mother Russia.

The domestic audience again appeared the main target of Tuesday’s “state of the nation” speech, where Putin again blamed the West for the war and wanting to destroy Russia. "They intend to transform a local conflict into a phase of global confrontation. This is exactly how we understand it all and we will react accordingly, because in this case we are talking about the existence of our country."
Greeting invading Russians with flowers? Nope.
The Russian intelligence establishment told him that Ukrainians would surrender, the army would disperse, and village locals would come out with flowers to greet the Russian soldiers; the world would turn a blind eye to the takeover of the country as it did in 2014 with the annexation of Crimea; the generals lied to him about the strength and readiness of the Russian army and the military hardware.

One year into a war that was supposed to last three days, Putin has no choice but to continue to blame the West for a war that he, objectively, started. "I want to repeat: it was they who unleashed the war," Putin said Tuesday. "And we continue to use force to stop it."

Repeating a lie doesn’t make it true — and in this case, at least, it makes the liar look weak.
@hippyjoe1955 says
Ukraine has lost about 600,000
So no source then?

Tell us, instead, how did Comrade Putin's pizda taste this morning??
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@ElwoodBlues Yawn you are a slow learner. Go find your own sources that are not just computer models.
@hippyjoe1955 YOU are the guy who so recently said
Prove it. You made the allegation
[big]ROTFL!!![/big]
Who's winning? The central banks, military industrial complex, globalists skimming from the laundered $100+ billion US tax dollars, and, of course, China.
revenant · F
Lots of NATO countries are going to wonder why on earth they spent so much money to Zelinsky !
@revenant Actually, NATO knows exactly why. Russia has been greatly weakened by this "special military operation" and they can't afford it like we can.

[sep][sep][sep] UPDATE [sep][sep][sep]

@dippyjoe: even if these numbers were exaggerated by a factor of TWO, it's still a cheap price for weakening Russia this much. Russia has spent most of its modern equipment; they are down to antique unreliable Soviet era weapons. NATO got a bargain.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@ElwoodBlues If you believe NATO propaganda you also believe the vaxes saved humanity. Sorry son but your sources are simply nonsense. Do try to get better information.
revenant · F
@ElwoodBlues well..no.
carpediem · 61-69, M
Biden needs to keep the $$ and weapons flowing lest his pal Zelensky drops a dime on his family’s nefarious dealings.
Pliz to tell Comrade Putin she need employ better trollings.

Didn't you look at your numbers? According to the propaganda you regurgitated, Ukraine has ZERO soldiers left. Yet it took Russia ONE YEAR to occupy a town of 73,000 people!!

Another year, another town? Putin's gonna die of old age before his army arrives at Kiev.

@hippyjoe1955 says
Prove it. You made the allegation
OK, I'll accept that challenge.

Just as soon as you prove the following:

specman · 51-55, M
I wonder how the other countries will react to this?
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@specman Very good question. Russia is a formidable foe and Ukraine does not have the resources to fend them off.
Spotpot · 41-45, M
@hippyjoe1955 Russia in Ukraine is a big military disapointment
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Spotpot Says you. The Russians have now taken Bakhmut and will continue their advance even more rapidly as the Ukrainian forces have been decimated. Ukraine is running on fumes and Russia has not even brought up its reserves. What should be alarming to every westerner is the realization that this latest win by Russia just reset the world stage. NATO is a toothless tiger full of sound and fury but when push comes to shove it can't summon the arms to fight a war nor is it united in this war. The US is frothing at the mouth but much of the rest of NATO is less than impressed and wondering why they are even involved. Then there is the small matter of the US destroying the German economy when it blew up the pipelines. Not a smart move ordered by not a smart man.
