In the mean time

Bakhmut the city in Ukraine that Zelinski said would never fall has fallen. The Ukrainian forces are now blowing up bridges between Bakhmut and the rest of Ukraine in an effort to slow the advance of Russian forces. Estimates of Ukrainian armed forces personnel losses exceed 600,000 dead wounded, deserted and captured. At the outset Ukraine said it had just under 600,000 troops it could throw into the fight. It is time we all sought peace and not war. Ukraine has fallen and there is nothing to be gained by trying to re-fight the war. Sadly for Americans and Canadians and the British we have not been well served by our propaganda outlets who make it sound like Ukrainian victory is imminent. The only thing that continued war will benefit is the arms industry as they crank out more arms and munitions to keep the meat grinder turning.

I wonder how the other countries will react to this?

@specman Very good question. Russia is a formidable foe and Ukraine does not have the resources to fend them off.

@hippyjoe1955 Russia in Ukraine is a big military disapointment

@Spotpot Says you. The Russians have now taken Bakhmut and will continue their advance even more rapidly as the Ukrainian forces have been decimated. Ukraine is running on fumes and Russia has not even brought up its reserves. What should be alarming to every westerner is the realization that this latest win by Russia just reset the world stage. NATO is a toothless tiger full of sound and fury but when push comes to shove it can't summon the arms to fight a war nor is it united in this war. The US is frothing at the mouth but much of the rest of NATO is less than impressed and wondering why they are even involved. Then there is the small matter of the US destroying the German economy when it blew up the pipelines. Not a smart move ordered by not a smart man.
