Right now, there is an effort to divide the republican party. All I've seen is a fuzzy photo of what appears to be a young DeSantis with some young women (assumed to be high school students) at a time when he was teaching high school. You're supposed to conclude DeSantis is giving alcohol to underage girls for sex. Then the photos and story disappears very quickly with nothing since.
Trump was faced with two crappy options. Roll out a vaccine with very limited testing and unknown long term effects or allow the shutdowns to continue destroying the economy. Even though the vaccine is crap, I think he made the right choice.
In the end, our country needs a bad ass with a thick skin to take on the deep state. I think that's Trump.
@Stargazer89 If it's true, it's a death sentence for DeSantis. But I noticed Trump took it down very shortly after he posted it, and we haven't heard anything since. Could be a warning shot fired over the bow. Regardless, I think Trump will be the 2024 nominee.
@BizSuitStacy I think he will be the nominee, also. At a time when we might need to go to war with China, I would MUCH rather have Trump in office. He's a wild card, a bad ass, and if he can get rid of Milley and his ilk and straighten out the military, we might NOT become a Communist Chinese labor camp.
Trump trusted fauci the CDC and the NIH and big pharma to be honest.. just like everyone else. Trump tried mentioning therapeutics. Ie: ivermectin and HQC. But the legacy media and above mentioned pissed on him and said he ‘quote’ said inject bleach and drink horse dewormer. They even banned it’s use and silenced REAL DOCTORS….

There is no such thing as an "ideal" candidate, especially not these days. The best candidate for the job would be someone wise enough to avoid politics to begin with...

Trump was in a tough place. No one had experience with a pandemic. I think he did great. The only person who can fix this mess is trump Its not desantis time
@Alison I was having a good run of enjoying Biden being not as terrible as I expected. But he's really screwing the pooch on the Ohio train disaster. This coming after he broke the railworker union strike. I'm worried his siding with corporate railroad may be what sinks him.
Republicans will by and large rally by the time their primaries are over. They may have ugly primaries, but their last ones were as well. So I worry your are correct about minimal chances to savour this infighting.

I think the nation would be better served if republicans rejected BOTH of those guys. I don't trust Trump to be truthful when smearing an opponent. There's good evidence for teacher DeSantis drinking with students; grooming seems a stretch at the moment.

Darlington is a boarding and day school, for grades Pre-K through 12. In 2001, when DeSantis joined the staff of the high school, he’d have been in his twenties, with college and work in politics already under his proverbial belt. His students would have been high school co-eds, teenagers, some of whom would have been living on-campus. According to our whistleblower, he had a reputation among students for being a young “hot teacher” who girls loved, and the girls in the photo are believed to have graduated in 2002, making them seniors at the time.
You are falling for propaganda. Neither Trump, nor DeSantis will will at this rate. You are being taken in by a ruse, never mind that DeSantis may not declare his candidacy. The Dems will win if you don’t get your heads out of the propaganda.
I think there are far too many idiots in this country for either one to win. Just being honest. I plan on voting for Trump, but I suspect the fix is already in.
