A brief, broad introduction to Marxism. Since conservatives like to use this as a dirty word, they might as well learn what it actually means...

Most people who criticize Marxism,Socialism,Anarchism,Communism don't really know what they are or aren't.
@redredred
I’m neither and it’s you who wants more state control over the individual making you the fascist.
Yes. Bringing Democracy to the workplace and making essential services more affordable will bring more state control over the individual. 🙄
Have you ever noticed that the more social programs a country has, the freer it is? Shocking, I know, making healthcare cheaper hasn't lead to anyone's enslavement.
As I told you, the word “democracy” does not appear in any of our founding documents. The only constitutional requirement the federal government demands of state governments is they must have a republican form for government. No mention of democracy.
No shit, because it's understood that a Republic is a form of Democracy.
But I know, you don't want democratic elections, so you have to pretend that America never had Democracy.

@BohemianBoo “ Bringing Democracy to the workplace and making essential services more affordable will bring more state control over the individual”

Exactly, because it will require state authority to take away from the private enterprise control of the entrepreneur’s going concern.

“ Republic is a form of Democracy.”

Really? Who had the vote in the Roman Republic? Don’t work so hard to demonstrate your ignorance.
@redredred
Exactly, because it will require state authority to take away from the private enterprise control of the entrepreneur’s going concern.
First of all, no.
Secondly, I do think certain industries should be nationalized. However, we've already done this and it didn't make people less free. It was actually the opposite, because we have democratic control over the government. This is why government jobs are generally better for workers than private corporations.
Really? Who had the vote in the Roman Republic? Don’t work so hard to demonstrate your ignorance.
The people did. They voted for their representatives, who then went on to vote on the laws. Basically, what our system is based on.
By the way, if you're going to lie about Democracy, maybe don't use Rome as an example. The whole reason historians distinguish the Roman Republic from the Roman Empire is because in the later, the public no longer had democratic control. Instead, Rome had dictators that inherited the throne through birth or adoption. This was the big difference between the two incarnations of Ancient Rome.

And this is what you want, right? An end to democratic elections so the Republicans can just appoint the president.

Always amuses me the way these people Starlin used to his ‘useful idiots’ going on about the virtues of Marxism, a philosophy whose implementation of which has been responsible for the deaths of around an estimated 100 million people in peacetime. Just go to North Korea and enjoy the Marxist Utopia. Of course it’s pointless arguing with these dear folk as it was pointless with me arguing with them when I was at university many years ago. They just are deluded with the cult then as they are now. They would just get into their cars which were bought with their fathers capitalist money and drive off into the sunset leaving us working class guys on the pavement
Gloomy · F
@Mathers aren't you embarrased only using the "no you" argument?
Mathers · 61-69
Well as you’re not why should I be? I’m only trying to answer a guy who knows nothing@Gloomy
Mathers · 61-69
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow How do you know as you know nothing?

I too have a degree in economics, she’s totally wrong if, to any degree, she thinks Marx’s dreaming could ever become reality. First off, there is zero difference between “state ownership” and “common ownership” . Logically there is Norway the people could win a factory in common without a state structure behind it. Read any treatment of the story of the “Tragedy of the commons” and you will see the obvious flaw in the idea of common ownership ever working.

One big difference between a market economy and a Marxist economy is a market economy is comprised of willing contractors freely making deals with each other and a Marxist economy requires the force of law to prevent people from freely contracting with each other.
redredred · M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow Coming from a Marxist, that’s a complement. The only thing serious about Marxism us the huge trail of dead bodies in its wake.
@redredred And thank you for proving me correct yet again.

Found a picture of you.

I take it you’re a student who lives at home and hasn’t actually seen anything of the real world otherwise you wouldn’t be propagating this junk? Why don’t you get out and live some real life and see some real things about what Marxism has done and then you might not be so keen this sort of lunacy.
Mathers · 61-69
Oh you are a twit. If I went to university these days I will be dumbing down my mind. No doubt I’ll meet twits like you there@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow
@Mathers Thank you for proving my point since you are not even capable of stringing together a coherent sentence.
They also feature Marx -. The Communist Manifesto.

@Roundandroundwego

you're not spamming yourself, you're spamming my thread.
@Pikachu
Well you made your choice
@Pikachu sorry. Let's have non political stuff drown out Marx.
Great video but I also get mildly irritated by atheists hijacking the term heathen because they think it is clever but that is another debate.
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow

To be called a heathen or to call someone a heath who does not practice germanic/norse polytheism?

Yeah it does seem like a joke to me...because it's such a generic term these days. Where is your community?

I love when a hot girl says she's in the mood for self-flagellation.
@Pikachu Actually, she does point out one of my problems with Marxism. I don't think the state should ever own all property, even if it is a democratic state. But of course, nobody in politics today is saying that should happen.
@BohemianBoo

Yeah she says that is a (probably) necessary stage but that it should be transitional. I do wonder what it would look like if the means of production were actually in the hands of the working class.
@Pikachu I'd say just have the government only give subsidies to co-ops. But for some Socialists, that wouldn't be going far enough. And this is why leftist in-fighting has become a meme.
Marxism according to the right. = "My feelings are hurt!"

Let’s do socialism for Reich-Wingers, too, while we’re at it:

@Gloomy and who do you think will become your overlords ?
Gloomy · F
@revenant 🙄 you watched the video?
revenant · F
@Gloomy half
revenant · F
ahah Who is that first with the purple hair ?
@revenant

So you've noticed she has purple hair. Did you have any other thoughts?
revenant · F
@Pikachu elementary Dr Watson
@revenant

Yeah i think that's her point. Marxism actually means a thing, not just anything conservatives consider to far to the left lol
I just love this. I feel much the same.
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow
