I too have a degree in economics, she’s totally wrong if, to any degree, she thinks Marx’s dreaming could ever become reality. First off, there is zero difference between “state ownership” and “common ownership” . Logically there is Norway the people could win a factory in common without a state structure behind it. Read any treatment of the story of the “Tragedy of the commons” and you will see the obvious flaw in the idea of common ownership ever working.
One big difference between a market economy and a Marxist economy is a market economy is comprised of willing contractors freely making deals with each other and a Marxist economy requires the force of law to prevent people from freely contracting with each other.

@redredred Lol. Reddit AnCap boards don't count. I suspect you got your "degree" the same Place MarkPaul got his doctorate since you display on a regular basis you don't understand even basic concepts and merely parrot the same talking points you can find on any "Libertarian" board run by people who think reading Atlas Shrugged makes them an economic professor.
Even this post proves you have no idea what you are talking about and just parrot cliches and talking points.
The "tragedy of the commons" it is no accident this came out of the British empire and very very conveniently invents a justification of the seizure of public lands after the fact in the UK and a justification for the now private property of the landed aristocracy.
And tell me without telling me you never even made it through the 48 page Communist Manifesto let alone actually read any Marxist theory. lol
This is child level propaganda you have here.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow Yes, yes, yes, dear little child. Let’s look at those wonderful paradises like North Korea, Venezuela, Cuba, 1970s Cambodia and let’s not forget the top two, the good old USSR and China.
Now, it’s your turn to try to tell me those aren’t “real socialism”. Go ahead, I’ll be terribly disappointed if you don’t try that trope.

@redredred And thank you for proving my point you have no idea what you are talking about and just parrot talking points that are not even your own ideas.

Are you serious? That's the myth libertarians try to sell people. Market economies work through coercion and power dynamics.
Only the priviledged and people on the top of the ladder have the luxury of freely contracting with each other.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow What a bizarrely unimportant response yet perfectly appropriate for you.

@redredred Thank you for proving you are not a serious person.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow Coming from a Marxist, that’s a complement. The only thing serious about Marxism us the huge trail of dead bodies in its wake.
