Ghislaine Maxwell and her redemption?

I saw that she is teaching etiquette and yoga in prison. How ironic. The classes are so successful she is being asked to teach them again.

I saw that she is in Tallahassee in a minimum security prison which means she is probably teaching white collar criminals. She runs the track to stay in shape.

Not sure whether to applaud her or laugh. Low Security risk huh? What deal did they cut with her?

Ghislaine Maxwell was found guilty of very serious, deeply unpleasant offences, meriting a lengthy prison sentence..

However, what she and her fellow-inmates are allowed to do in prison does not matter.

What matters is that they are in prison having been found guilty of the offences for which they are charged, both depriving them of their liberty and protecting everyone else from them.

Irrespective of person, offences and term, it is a primary principle of justice that convicted criminals are sent to prison as punishment, not for punishing.

Whether Ghislaine Maxwell and her "students" do reform sufficiently to be released at the end of their sentences, or on parole
eventually, is another question, and very much up to them.

@akindheart I see what you mean. Yes, I must admit that change of regime surprises me, but I don't how US sentencing and prison rules work in that respect.

If she is released early I would assume she would be on parole, under constant supervision until assessed as safe as far as possible. I know that judgement is very hard to make, and it's not something I'd care to make.

The UK has a system by which sex-offenders are on a special register, and depending on the severity of the offence and the risk of re-offending this supervision can be from some years to life, after release from prison.

@ArishMell will they transfer her parole to UK? I think that was where they feared she would take off to. If she gets out here, she will get killed
ArishMell · 70-79, M
@akindheart She'd have a hard time of it here, too, and would need find somewhere quiet to live quietly without bothering anyone. We don't tolerate vigilantes though, and an attack on her would still be treated in law as a crime itself even if non-fatal.

I don't know if she would return to the UK, or be sent here, because I don't know if she is still a UK-only citizen, has dual UK / US nationality or is US-only now.

Well, she is over 60 years old, not in great physical health, and the sentence she was given may well turn out to be a whole life sentence.

I'm glad she's doing something useful with her life at last. Her money and influence did not enable her to escape justice completely. Unlike her father and brothers she is facing the consequences of her criminal actions.
akindheart · 61-69, F
@SunshineGirl she has plea bargained for sure. she went from high risk to minimum security and NO LIST has been provided. She has bargained for I bet a lower sentence and to go back to England. I bet.
Long time in prison for trafficking kids to nobody….
Weird.
1 year anniversary of her incarceration and all their clients are yet to be even questioned by authorities..
akindheart · 61-69, F
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout Exactly. why the silence?
Justmeraeagain · 56-60, F
Justice is for the poor it seems the rich cut deals
Virgo79 · 61-69, M
Having information is having power😉
akindheart · 61-69, F
@Virgo79 yes and i think she has done some trading. More freedom, lesser sentence and she keeps the list quiet
Virgo79 · 61-69, M
@akindheart my guess🙂
gol979 · 41-45, M
Shes secret service. Look up her old man and intelligence. Look at the inexplicable rise to prominence of epstein. The flight log is there for everyone to see. I think they were running a sicko honeypot scheme on epstein island.

They were heavily involved in mass financial fraud fore the big players and big on the transhumanism scene.

Whitney Webb has done some excellent research and reporting on this.
sciguy18 · M
She probably got that cushy set up for spilling the beans on Epstein.
akindheart · 61-69, F
@sciguy18 no she is saving that little list and promising not to prosecute. FYI-they just tore down Epstein's house
PhilDeep · 51-55, M
Deal? More like paid-everyone off. She could probably buy the whole prison staff if she needed to. In my opinion lol!
akindheart · 61-69, F
@PhilDeep i know right? i think it goes higher than that. she has the goods and the DOJ knows it.
TexChik · F
Probably teaching them how to abduct children.
Heartlander · 80-89, M
I imagine that she is treated like a queen there, probably better than Martha Stewart was treated.

Not only white-collar criminals but also probably the prison guards. At least the higher ranking ones.
akindheart · 61-69, F
@Heartlander she certainly has more freedom. I believe that she is getting herself in shape for her shorter sentence. I wonder why the list has not come out.
Heartlander · 80-89, M
@akindheart While Martha Stewart may have spent her her time there making cupcakes for the warden, it's more likely that Ghislaine has been keeping busy organizing massage sessions for the guards and special visitors. How long before she is patrolled? My guess would be 18 months.
akindheart · 61-69, F
@Heartlander I bet you are right. 18 months at the most
checkoutanytime · 46-50, M
She should be executed for what she has done to children. She has no class.
REMsleep · 41-45, F
@checkoutanytime Yes she only cared about her lifestyle and I actually think that she enjoyed it too.
HowtoDestroyAngels · 46-50, M
She needs to be shanked.
REMsleep · 41-45, F
Typical. I wouldn't expect anything else. A person like her is just in their own self centered world of selfishness.
Just living to enjoy and luxuriate and be the center of attention. She is probably having loads of sex in there too.
Some crumble when they are imprisonment but some like Ghislaine love themselves so much that nothing can bring them down.
akindheart · 61-69, F
@REMsleep i want to see the list. she can do what she wants but i want the list
graphite · 61-69, M
@akindheart Too many above-the-law people on that list. Can't prosecute because the "law enforcement" agencies work for them.
akindheart · 61-69, F
@graphite oh yeah don't I know that to be true. Clinton and from what i heard Bill Gates and Alan Dershowitz
1490wayb · 56-60, M
she belongs in a supermax prison and suffer like her victims. but she may actually enjoy that
akindheart · 61-69, F
@1490wayb my concern is that she has traded immunity by not giving the list of clients. Secondly, she was considered a flight risk to the UK. now suddenly she is in a minimum security prison.
