What You Could Buy With $44 Billion.

$9.2 billion - One brand-new Columbia-class, nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine
$6.7 billion - Buckingham Palace
$5.8 billion - Chicago Bears
$4.7 billion - 10 shares of Berkshire Hathaway Class A stock
$4.1 billion - Chicago Bulls
$3.8 billion - Chicago Cubs
$2.0 billion - Eiffel Tower
$2.0 billion - 1,000 Tomahawk cruise missiles
$1.5 billion - Chicago Blackhawks
$1.4 billion - Wonder of the Seas - the world's largest cruiseship
$1.2 billion - The Sears Tower (yeah, I know, it's technically the "Willis" Tower now)
$1.0 billion - DisneyWorld and Disneyland
$0.6 billion - Naming rights for the sports arenas in Miami and Los Angeles

...

Or you could do what Elon Musk did and buy Twitter and run it into the ground.

I could see you buying the Cubs

@Baremine

Jed Hoyer would be fired on day one.

If this wasn't so sad, it might be hilarious.

Karma is definitely at work here.
He hasn’t paid for it completely - but he will.

@LeopoldBloom and pay and pay and pay and pay and...

$44billion is mind boggling, but consider this... Old Muskrat's networth literally dropped over $200billion in the past 13 months. That's approximately the GDP of Greece! WTF

so to sum up - you're advocating that corporate executives purchase:

1. missiles and submarines
2. more sports franchises
3. iconic public architecture

i think i'm happier having him buy twitter, and seeing an army of self entitled crybabies rush for the exit. but thats just me. others may actually love twitter, facebook, tiktok, youtube, instagrarm, the karcashians, millionaire "influencers:, state sponsored bots . ..

to each their own.
TrashCat · M
@SusanInFlorida That army of "self entitled brats" otherwise known as American workers will now have to seek employment somewhere else while collecting unemployment. I find this odd that conservatives applaud this but complain about a few hundred Keystone pipeline workers getting fired or are upset that coal miners lost their jobs.
Lol

Several of those are not for sale, but it does make the point!

So odd for him to crap away what he seemed to desperately desire...

20 Billion a year and you end homelessness.
ron122 · 41-45, M
He's making it better. Don't be mad just because Republicans won't be censored.
beckyromero · 36-40, F
@ron122
You think Musk can't pay the rent or buy toilet paper?
He's stopped paying rent in the Seattle office and faces eviction and he fired all the janitors in the San Francisco office.

Without anyone re-stocking toilet paper, employees are bringing their own from home.

ron122 · 41-45, M
@beckyromero He most likely wants to leave Seattle and San Francisco. Move everything to Texas.
beckyromero · 36-40, F
@ron122
He most likely wants to leave Seattle and San Francisco. Move everything to Texas.
Then do it honorably. Pay the fucking rent, then move if that's your plan.

🤔.............Wish I would have known about Berkshire Hathaway Class A stock in 1979 and bought 10 shares of stock at $260 a share and it would be worth 4.8M today, not 4.7B......................The Sears Tower will always be the Sears Tower to me...............
beckyromero · 36-40, F
@SusanInFlorida

Not "advocating." Saying what one "could" buy if certain things were for sale (or could be funded, in the military examples).

But damn right that I'd at least buy the Cubs!
BackyardShaman · 61-69, M
Gosh, how can anyone get by on just $44 Billion
