Which is the biggest current threat Russia or China

Trump republicians ´see China as the biggest current threat because they are not white and christian like the Russians even though China hasent currently invaded a country and Russia is much more aggressive.

China and Russia are part of an alliance, determined to bring back authoritarianism, Soviet and Mao style, to the world, without the atheism that made it unappealing to some people.

This is why they loved Trump, and why MAGAs are against the US's stand in opposing them.

I'm sure some will say that the US is the same, but the year is 2022, and we are no longer engaged in wars for profit, and economically enslaving other people. That is, unless the GOP takes over again.

Honestly neither are a real threat to the west. But fear mongering and stirring up conflicts fuels an industry worth multiple billions.

There is a reason why the US capital is surrounded by palaces owned by arms dealers.

And it is cute that you think US support for Ukraine is altruistic. Especially since a pretty solid argument can be made that that whole mess is the end result of US colonialism in Eastern Europe since 91. But that is a different discussion.

Long term, China. Current...seems a toss-up, but Putin is really doing his best to play "chicken" with NATO, the EU, the West generally.

I think that we are all a huge nasty threat to each other and none of us are humane or intelligent enough to just put an end to this constant bickering...like a bunch of teenage girls.

We are all completely insane over a wee bitty Pandemic that made every one go nuts.

@DIABLISS I don't think that has anything to do with Russia invading Ukraine & threatening the use of nuclear weapons.

And a pandemic is neither "wee" nor "bitty" by definition...and, sadly, it's still here.

@SomeMichGuy The pandemic should have halted all stupid and bad relations between countries. and for awhile it slowed things down. and when it was announced that it was technically over with....everyone did what ever the hell they felt like doing. and the pandemic should have been teeny weenie but stupidity caused it to be the biggest tragedy since 9/11. which was another stupid thing that people knew was happening and they didn't do a damn thing about it

Taiwan & New Zealand figured out how to deal with it.

The US is a cautionary tale, when we could have been exemplars.
