Is "Democracy" on the ballot in this year's mid-terms?

I could have sworn all that is on the ballot is names of candidates, that voters can choose from to exercise democracy!

@Aliveshock Still "democracy" is not on the ballot. It is the ballot.
@HoraceGreenley
trump’s bromances are on the ballot.

@Aliveshock
Like Biden, I have the same reaction to you
@HoraceGreenley

@HoraceGreenley
don’t get upset just because there is a [c=003BB2]Blue Wave[/c]
The money was spent on infrastructure.
something that had not been before reagan the first huge deficit spender.
Remember the 600 ship Nany? 🤔
HoraceGreenley · 56-60, M
@Aliveshock Well the Republicans are taking the majority in the House and Senate.
HoraceGreenley · 56-60, M
@Aliveshock What's the matter? You don't like ships?
@HoraceGreenley
we don’t need 600 ships when then the “red wave” is so lame! 🤣🤣🤣
HoraceGreenley · 56-60, M
@Aliveshock How many ships do we need?
@HoraceGreenley
we could ask Ronnie but he’s 6 feet under! 🥳
HoraceGreenley · 56-60, M
@Aliveshock But what do you think?
@HoraceGreenley Personally i think after ronnie spent trillions of 80s dollars to break up the Soviet Union that anyone that sides with Russia is a traitor and should be treated as such.
HoraceGreenley · 56-60, M
@Aliveshock OK. I agree Russia is the enemy.

What i am driving at is that there is an optimal amount of money to spend on the military. This is borne out by many studies by historians and economists.

And yes. Reagan bankrupted the Soviet Union. They were teetering and he pushed them over.
@HoraceGreenley
ronnie began the bankrupting of us when he ran on a balanced budget. He was such a looney he wanted another trillion of 1980 dollars to buy SDI which would be junk in space now.
The point is that the money we spend on ukraine is nothing compared to what the far right spent back in the day.
even gas prices were higher with bush 43 when the Saudis had W in their pocket.
HoraceGreenley · 56-60, M
@Aliveshock How many ships should we have?
@HoraceGreenley
You seem to have some background gilligan. Besides the USS Minnow, what do you think is required short of a massive 600 ship Navy costing multibillions of dollars?
HoraceGreenley · 56-60, M
@Aliveshock The US should spend $1 Trillion annually on its military. This is according to the acedemic reasearch I've read.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@HoraceGreenley can you cite it so we can read it?
HoraceGreenley · 56-60, M
@samueltyler2 A great summary of the scholoarly work is a book by Paul kennedy, "The Rise and Fall of the Great Powers"
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@HoraceGreenley is that where I will find the suggestion that the US spend $1 trillion a year on defense? What do we currently spend anyway, directly and indirectly? According the a Google search that i just did, we already spent $1.64 trillion a year on defense, as per the 2022 fiscal year budget.
HoraceGreenley · 56-60, M
@samueltyler2 The research indicates that the optimal amount to spend is 5% of GDP. The US economy is $22 trillion annually.

Right now the US spends around $750 billion annually.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@HoraceGreenley i am.sorry to tell you that you seem.to disagree with Google which states the $1.64. You said the reference suggests 1, so we are already exceeding that amount! Five percent would be $ 1.1 trillion, so we already exceeds that, so what is your point, I must be missing something here.
