Right wing lies exposed in confession by pelosi attacker

DePape’s confession debunks this rumor, per the affidavit in the complaint:
DEPAPE stated that he was going to hold Nancy hostage and talk to her. If Nancy were to tell DEPAPE the “truth,” he would let her go, and if she “lied,” he was going to break “her kneecaps.” DEPAPE was certain that Nancy would not have told the “truth.” In the course of the interview, DEPAPE articulated he viewed Nancy as the “leader of the pack” of lies told by the Democratic Party. DEPAPE also later explained that by breaking Nancy’s kneecaps, she would then have to be wheeled into Congress, which would show other Members of Congress there were consequences to actions. DEPAPE also explained generally that he wanted to use Nancy to lure another individual to DEPAPE.

Some republicans, including Senator Cruz, are now calling the attack an "alleged" attack. An attack with a hammer so severe to cause a skull fracture is definitely an attempted homicide, no doubt about that.
dancingtongue · 80-89, M
@samueltyler2 Actually, it is "alleged" until the man is convicted. Innocent until proven guilty, regardless of your politics and what has been publicly released.

@dancingtongue are you crazy? He may not be guilty until tried, but how can it be an alleged attack, he was seen attacking by the police, he admitted to the attack. If it looks like a duck, waddles like a duck and quacks like a duck, would you call it a strawberry?

oh, now that i thought more about it, maybe he was trying to nail a board into the floor and Mr. Pelosi's head just got into the way, or maybe he was in the room to dance with Mr., Pelosi!

@samueltyler2 I'm not questioning any of that, and I am certainly no fan of Ted Cruz. What I was defending was the English language, our system of law, and the good old days when journalists, law enforcement, prosecutors, politicians -- anyone in a position to influence public opinion -- dutifully used the adjective appropriately to indicate that a crime and its perpetrator had not yet been confirmed by the courts.

@dancingtongue the crime is not attacking, the crime is attempted murder, attempted kidnapping, etc. The attack was real.

@dancingtongue i guess be up, you are incorrigible. Have you heard or seen any the newest sordid comments about dance in the Pelosi house, there are now tons of allegations denying that any attack occurred.
dancingtongue · 80-89, M
@samueltyler2 The denials are pretty ludicrous, particularly given an alleged confession. Not defending them. Just don't think Cruz should be attacked for using the word alleged, which I perceive as a small step back towards civility and rationality.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@dancingtongue not the way he and his crew used it. It didn't take them long to spout a conspiracy theory about this incident. That tally disgusting!
