Right wing lies exposed in confession by pelosi attacker

DePape’s confession debunks this rumor, per the affidavit in the complaint:
DEPAPE stated that he was going to hold Nancy hostage and talk to her. If Nancy were to tell DEPAPE the “truth,” he would let her go, and if she “lied,” he was going to break “her kneecaps.” DEPAPE was certain that Nancy would not have told the “truth.” In the course of the interview, DEPAPE articulated he viewed Nancy as the “leader of the pack” of lies told by the Democratic Party. DEPAPE also later explained that by breaking Nancy’s kneecaps, she would then have to be wheeled into Congress, which would show other Members of Congress there were consequences to actions. DEPAPE also explained generally that he wanted to use Nancy to lure another individual to DEPAPE.
Sighs.

Republican/Trumpist/amoralsocipoathic types just jumped ahead of the reported facts here, spinning what they were fed to serve their own ends.

Reported facts may force them to shift around a bit, but "exposing right wing lies" is kind of a joke, because those passing for right wing nowadays aren't bothered by being called liars by libs.

Their leaders openly state that they have no duty to be honest with the press, and reject testifying under oath for fear of being judged perjurous by non-believers.

I suppose trolling feeds your smugness. @Ryderbike
@jackjjackson Do you think that cultish devotion to a politician can lead to Fascism?

I wouldn’t know. No one I know does that. @BohemianBabe
Only Paul Pelosi, 82, was home when the break-in occurred just after 2:30 a.m. on Friday. During the incident, 42-year-old David DePape struck him with a hammer and fractured his skull, according to the criminal complaint. DePape has been charged in federal court with assault and attempted kidnapping. Meanwhile, Pelosi remains hospitalized after undergoing surgery.

Right-wing media has run wild with conspiracy theories based on initial reporting that turned out to be false. According to one early account, DePape was supposedly in his underwear during the attack. That is not true. Some outlets also reported that Pelosi knew his attacker. That the Speaker was not home at the time fueled rumors that the incident was prompted by some type of lovers’ quarrel while she was away.

One article to this effect published by the notorious unreliable Santa Monica Observer was even tweeted by new Twitter owner Elon Musk, who has since deleted the tweet.

Some republicans, including Senator Cruz, are now calling the attack an "alleged" attack. An attack with a hammer so severe to cause a skull fracture is definitely an attempted homicide, no doubt about that.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@dancingtongue i guess be up, you are incorrigible. Have you heard or seen any the newest sordid comments about dance in the Pelosi house, there are now tons of allegations denying that any attack occurred.
dancingtongue · 80-89, M
@samueltyler2 The denials are pretty ludicrous, particularly given an alleged confession. Not defending them. Just don't think Cruz should be attacked for using the word alleged, which I perceive as a small step back towards civility and rationality.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@dancingtongue not the way he and his crew used it. It didn't take them long to spout a conspiracy theory about this incident. That tally disgusting!

What a dumb republican pleb.

He must have brished his teeth with fluoride toothpaste.

I just dont see the purpose of the lies snd conspiracies. Pizzagate? Qanon? What purpose do they serve? To make their echo chamber louder? There are a few GOP on my ballot who seem like reasonable people with platforms I can get behind. But they don’t talk about that. They only spread 2020 election lies, conspiracies, and complaints about Joe Biden that make no sense. So none get my vote.
@trollslayer It's just a way of justifying violence to themselves. Of course the vast majority of Republicans don't really believe the Big Lie. But it gives them a self-justification to use violence against Democrats.

Congress members have learned to upgrade security on their residences. Hate media stirs up the crazies.

No, both sides "aren't" the same.

Perfectly sane, right? But the MAGA crowd, and in this case, the rank and file GOP as well, wants to turn this into another conspiracy.
This is what they want. And the Democrats are at fault here too for not fighting back.
@Ryderbike @BohemianBabe while you both have a point i'm all in favor of Democrats with AR15s. That way when these right wing chuds try to invade our homes we can take matters into our own hands. Why the fuck would I care anyways? it's just one less right wing voter to me, I wouldn't miss them they'd be making my day by trying to invade their place and ending up iced.
@BetweenKittensandRiots And that's something that often happens in the lead-up to Authoritarianism. The Nazis didn't order the Night of Broken Glass. It was just a result of the culture that the Nazis cultivated in the lead-up to their takeover.
So yeah, I encourage everyone to buy guns now. Don't break the law, just be ready to use legal self-defense when these people come for you.
@Ryderbike the legal system has done a wonderful job for years letting women down and failing all kinds of people. Its not enough on its own. its' so bad at this point that if I said the courts are failing women very few women would give me any real push back.

Still, No One is saying why or even how someone was able to break into the home of the 3rd Highest Ranking Member of the US Government and attack that person's spouse. All of you on the Left are completely disregarding that Fact. Even former US Presidents still have US Government security.
dancingtongue · 80-89, M
@dakotaviper The fact is that Pelosi was in Washington, DC, and her security detail was mostly with her. The security on her home and husband were reduced to video surveillance because of her absence, and the Capitol Police -- if you listened to them in the news -- admitted that because of limited resources their was not live 24/7 eyeballs on the monitors. But when the videotapes were checked, their was clear video of DePape breaking in using the hammer from outside despite what Budnick and others like to pretend didn't happen.
@dakotaviper how many Capitol police were assaulted when the Capitol was attacked by trump terrorists?

Lots of security there
oh come on you know
"that is just what they MADE him say. all scripted Bro!

@SatyrService Well since they lie about literally everything you’re probably right

And you put any credibility in the words of a mentally ill person?
@fanuc2013 Yes, if they're consistent and correspond to the other evidence.
@fanuc2013 nope that’s why i never listen to trumpees.
