Green Energy…California Power Grid May Fail in Heat Wave

Green Energy from Solar and Wind cannot supply even the green energy needed to power your fancy new Electric Vehicles when conditions are extreme. The State officials warned that Californians would have to cut back on usage, and even avoid charging their electric vehicles due to a major heatwave targeting the state this week. It might cause blackouts on the California power grid. So much for the reliability of green energy.

Nice straw man fallacy there, sporty! Nobody is saying "shut down all fossil fuel NOW." They are saying slowly phase fossil fuels out over time.

And Green energy IS slowly phasing out fossil fuels and it will continue to do so. Even in places like Texas.

In the US electricity sector, renewables surpassed coal in 2019, and they've continued to rise.

Just like Texas did when they had extreme heat. And then Texas actually had to ration it.

@ElwoodBlues so extreme heat never happens at all in history of electricity until this year?
Seems like there was plenty of electricity to go around before the green cult took over.. now not only are they banning petrol cars.. they dont want you to charge your EV because… power shortage.

True. But look at the trend - renewables continue to accelerate.

Yet for some unexplained reason - Global Warming only occurs during the day and in the Summertime.

Honestly, "forget the trend" is the WORST advice I've seen in a LONG time!!! I'll bet in your real life you don't ignore trends either.

Another component of the trend is how coal is being replaced by natural gas. Natural gas has less than HALF the carbon footprint of the same number of kWh from coal, so it's another BIG part of the greening trend, albeit a stepping stone.
