Climate Change Nazis Now want to Destroy the Scotch Industry

Scotland is famous for the whisky it makes. But to make it, distillers heat the mixture by burning the ancient dried peat — which is matted grass and vegetable matter found in Scotland’s bogs that took centuries to compact into a medium that burns like wood or soft coal. It is this process that gives Scotch its smooth, smoky flavor.

Because it is a natural product of the earth, and because it is burned to distill the whisky, that makes peat a “fossil fuel.” And guess what that means? Yep, it is something that climate nazi's want to ban.

Is it so unreasonable an expectation for the climate change nazi's to settle for windmills and unicorn farts to replace the peat?

To "Save the planet!" we'll be expected to eat this: https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/313757

@graphite Ok, I'll bite. What's wrong with eating bugs? Seriously, what's wrong with it? Keep in mind, if you've ever eaten anything with red food dye, you've probably eaten bugs. The most popular red food dye in the US is Red #4, and it's made with insect shells.

@ItsSteve You go ahead and eat all the bugs you want, cheeseburgers and ribeyes will be on my table
ItsSteve · 46-50, M
@sunsporter1649 Like i thought I said, they're going to be on mine too. I'm cool with eating meat.

@ItsSteve If you want to eat bugs, go for it. Bon apetit. But we don't want the climate fascist fanatics imposing it on the rest of us, via government decree. Bye bye freedom. (Good thing envirofanatics have very few children. Babies are bad for the environment, you know.)

@graphite And again, nobody is suggesting that. There's no bill or regulation being considered making you eat bugs. So why are you so worked up about it?
graphite · 61-69, M
@ItsSteve Nobody is suggesting it? I do searches on eating bugs and there's more stuff on it than I can keep track of. "A handful of bugs is more nutritious than meat!" "The beef industry pollutes!" and on and on.

@graphite What influence does Marshall Brain have, other than a cool name? You don't have to get outraged by everything all the time. You don't have to look for things that will make you angry. It's not healthy, and it won't make you happy.
graphite · 61-69, M
@ItsSteve Well, we see Democrats flagrantly using public agencies as weapons against anyone who disagrees with them. Very scary times. And on this subject, Bill Gates has already been out championing fake beef. Let him and his family eat it and leave the rest of us the hell alone. "I bought an operating system from somebody else and got rich getting IBM to license it! I'm now an authority on world nutrition, pandemics, climate change, you name it!"
@sunsporter1649 Imagine being so entitled you would watch the world burn to cater to your narcissism.
@graphite Good job proving again you don't know what fascist means. That is your clown show.
graphite · 61-69, M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow "Ah we're all gonna die! Ahhh!" Utter nonsense. Let's just keep the environmental fanatics childless and eating bugs and they can leave the rest of us the hell alone.
@graphite Throwing a tantrum because you want a Happy Meal is not freedom.

So why are you so worked up about it?

It's not about being so worked up about it. As the article states, the practice of eating bugs (entomophagy) is one of disgust as "we tend to associate eating insects with 'primitive' behavior." There you have it. I've swallowed grasshoppers a few times myself but don't expect others to try it.

Now Minnow Shots are a different thing altogether...

@PatKirby i get that some people are disgusted aboit the idea of eating bugs. My question was more, why are you so worked up about it as in, why do you have some sudden fear about being forced to do it? This thread is about distillers and peat? Somehow its turned into free association about evil environmentalists wanting to make us eat bugs.

I nean, you yourself have called them Nazis and displayed a picture of a teenage girl as Hitler. So where does this freefloating fear and demonization come from?
PatKirby · M
@ItsSteve

So you have no earthly idea?
ItsSteve · 46-50, M
@PatKirby

I have some idea. I think some of it is media driven....I think the media, in order to get watchers, doesn't tend to go in depth on issues, but focuses on fear and outrage, and that's something we're overwhelmed with. On top of that, there's this polarization, both in the media (somebody who watches just Newsmax is hearing different things than somebody who watches just MSNBC) and in society, where everyone on your side is good and right, and what they say gets believed without question, and everyone on the other side is an enemy, wicked, who hates the US, and everything they say is just a lie.

It makes me nervous about the future and what will happen if these trends continue.
