DeSantis can't be Trump's running mate unless Trump changes his official residence back to New York State. Also, it's pretty obvious that DeSantis will challenge Trump for the nomination, and if Trump is the nominee, he won't forgive that.

I believe Tim Scott has already said he's not running, but of course that doesn't rule out the VP slot. As a Democrat I don't want any of these people, but if I was advising Trump (assuming he's the nominee), I'd recommend a female VP. This assumes the Democrats run Biden and Harris. As to which one, they're all far-right wackos so any of them would be equally bad.

Among the men, Jim Jordan is a potential 1/6 conspirator so he'd be a bad choice, plus being a fascist psycho. Pompeo might take too much of the spotlight from Trump, and considering that he's a potential candidate himself, Trump would never pick him either. So that leaves Youngkin.

@LeopoldBloom Either her or Tim Scott, he presents himself more moderately, and he could use Scott as leverage against accusations of racism

@Djac17 Thanks for the daily joke.
@Djac17 Scott has already said he's not interested, but until the ballots are printed that may not mean much. You're right about countering accusations of racism. I'm just not sure Scott wants to be associated with Trump considering that he tried to have his last VP killed.

Anyone he picks the Democrats will call them racist.

@MrBrownstone Imagine if he picked Tim Scott. Then that narrative would blow up in their face

@Djac17 All their narratives do.

DeSantis & Youngkin will probably both run and do better than Trump within the party. Neither would be likely take the second spot on the ticket if it is Trump. It would be one of the less known female contenders. Either Stefanik or Blackburn.

DJT had his moment in the sun and the republican party is poised to take advantage of the epic failure of the current clownistration. If they are serious about getting things back on the right track, they'll present a serious candidate.
MTG.. just to piss the dems off.

As much as I wish President Trump was still in office today, I hope he does not run in 2024. He’s just to toxic and independents may stay away from voting for him.
justanothername · 51-55, M
@JesseInTX Trump was toxic while in office. That’s his nature and how he operates.
JesseInTX · 51-55, M
@justanothername are you better off today than you were on January 20, 2021?

[c=800000]I thought a presidential candidate and his vice-presidential choice could not be from the same state. I think it has something to do with the Electoral College. [/c]
Djac17 · 22-25, M
@ProfessorPlum77 Yeah. Dick Cheney had to change from Texas to Wyoming when Bush Jr picked him. If Trump picked DeSantis One would have to move
Djac17 · 22-25, M
I would personally rank them in this order

1. Stefanik

2. Noem

3. Scott

4. Youngkin

5. Reynolds

6. DeSantis

7. Pompeo

8. Jordan

9. Blackburn

10. Haley
