Capitol Demonstration Question

Here’s a question no one is asking. Why was Trump, leader of the Executive branch, responsible for protecting the Capitol, the home of the Legislative branch? Why aren’t Schumer and Pelosi on the hook for protecting the Capitol? It’s their office building.

I've heard it asked a lot earlier, albeit mostly as a deflection from the fact that these folks were there to support Trump and he kind of egged them on.

It has kind of died down a lot and at the moment, at least outside of Fox primetime, the 1/6 Commission seems to have gotten people focussed on Trump instead of Scumer, Pelosi and the Capitol police, etc.

I expect it'll resurge again a bit, but probably not much with midterms coming up and Trump being pathological in terms of keeping the spotlight on himself, even when it's not in his best interests.

@MistyCee You mean President Trump promoted the committee?
@sunsporter1649 I doubt that's what I meant.

But, in a sense, it's kind of true that he can't shut up about it, still. With a little more self discipline, I think he'd still be in the oval office.

Granted, he might never have gotten there in the first place, but still, I really think he squandered a lot of lifelines thrown to him over the years. Not that I'm not happy about it, mind you, but he seems to have chosen the path of greatest resistance whenever his ego was at issue.

@MistyCee LOL, easier for the demonocrats to bleat on about President Trump than praise the wonderful things the demonocrat party has done in the past 18 months?
@sunsporter1649 Probably, that's not what OP was talking about.

@MistyCee So tell me what has vastly improved in your life since Biden became resident?
@hippyjoe1955 Nor was that OP's question. Btw, Biden's been a resident of the US for as long as I can remember.

@MistyCee I didn't ask about OP's question I wanted your take on the great improvements that have taken place since Trump left office. I have asked you before and you keep dodging the question. Not sure why. Maybe because you are a team player and not a political analyst.
@hippyjoe1955 Off the top of my head, I'd say there's a stimulus bill and an infrastructure bill, but I expect anything done by this Congress will be undone by the next one. Other than that, it's mostly Trump cleanup, which might last a little longer.

I can't brag too much about Biden. He wasn't Trump, or one of the inbred sociopaths who stormed the capitol or are rejoicing about forced breeding women, getting rid of gay marriage, and cheering on mass shootings though. That helps.
@MistyCee

Can i just say how pleasant it is to see you effortlessly disarm @sunsporter1649 's compulsive whataboutism and deflections with earnest, thoughtful replies?
Keep it up.
@Pikachu lol. He's made me pull out my hair before ya know.
@MistyCee

lol Nevertheless, you're doing well today.
Can't take him too seriously. 😜

@MistyCee You mean abortions and contraception are illegal in the USA? When did that happen?
