Back to COAL?

It looks like European countries will have to switch to coal to meet their energy needs. Yea, black ugly coal. Also, predictions are that gas in the US will be at $6 a gallon by Labor Day.

The sniff test suggest that there indeed was collusion with Russia, and it was between Biden and Putin.

Isn't it also ironic that France (a country that instigated much of this greenie nonsense), draws 70%+ of its energy from nuclear power (not considered a "green" energy)?

Or that France is the largest exporter of energy in Europe?

Or that Germany, which boasts about their green energy production, is the largest importer of energy from France in Europe?

"Paris Agreement"...lol

more like the "we're gonna virtue signal so we can profit off of all the european plebs agreement"...
carpediem · 61-69, M
@wildbill83 the agreement essentially is that the US pays the bill
wildbill83 · 41-45, M
@carpediem not to mention the Russian oil imports (that most likely funded their war with Ukraine)
RosaMarie · 41-45, F
Biden and Putin working together doesn't pass the sniff test.

On the other hand, nicely done working Biden and sniff test into the same post.

Look who was right again.

“Germany will become totally dependent on Russian energy if it does not immediately change course.”

i saw that Germany will be using coal. take that "New Green Deal"

Think about all the oil /gas and lng we could be selling Europe and most the world.
We would not only bring our economy back but take Putins cash flow away.
Virgo79 · 61-69, M
@Driver2 thats a fact!
Thevy29 · 41-45, M
Australia is going back to coal, the politicians claim the 'green' options aren't handling the winter use... No mention of all the gas we export to America.
nedkelly · 61-69, M
Australia has some of the world’s largest coal reserves but we are too stupid to use it, but happy to sell if overseas
ArishMell · 70-79, M
It was Germany who raised that possibility for itself, not Europe generally; and not "back to coal" but continuing to use coal for longer and in larger quantities than they had intended.

If a country has already abandoned using coal it won't be able to revert, certainly not rapidly and easily. You can't just switch oil- or gas- fired power-stations to solid fuels without a lot of heavy modifying, especially if their existing boilers were never built to burn coal.

So not " switching to" or "going back to", coal.

I don't expect gas at the pumps to come down till next year if then.
But what about wind and solar power? 😆

Germany has a shortage of wood stoves because people are buying them up now and also stockpiling firewood.
ron122 · 41-45, M
