Could the U.S.see a return to the odd/even system to but gas?

Though it was way before my time,Ive read that in the 1970s',there was a gasoline shortage crisis under then -President Jimmy Carter.The crisis became so serious that they apparently assigned "odd/even"days where citizens could only purchase gas on the pre-assigned days.Also,I was told that there were lines at gas stations that stretched for several blocks!With the current shortage going on now,is there a possibility that they might return to that practice?

If the Biden administration, aka his cabal/ handlers knock off this, Oh we can’t use fossil fuels because of climate change bullshit, we could be energy independent and reduce the price of gasoline at the pump. Fuck them!
If we keep importing fossil fuels, that behavior flies flies in the face of all this climate change horseshit.
Where is the Can’t Understand Normal Thinking, Congress woman Cortez with her green new deal while her daddy, Biden imports foreign fossil fuels? She’s rather quiet, isn’t she?

@soar2newhighs Ive never understood that either.Its an established fact that U.S.oil production methods are the cleanest in the world.That being the case,and since its clear that the country needs the stuff,it would make perfect sense to ramp up domestic production,not just from an economic point of view-although that's vital as well-but from an environmental point of view.Its clear that the Biden administration simply wants to engage in politics-at the expense of the American people.

@soar2newhighs If the Republicans take back both houses with a decisive majority,there are two things they shouldn't do:add more congresspeople and pack the Supreme Court.(In fact,I would sponsor a law that would restrict the number of justices to its current limit.)Other than that,I say lay waste to them.The Democracts started the precedent and unlike with Trump,there is legal justification in doing so.

@DavidT8899 Why are oil companies allowed to export oil to other countries? Oil that comes out of American soil should be used in America first.

@independentone I agree.Though I dont think that those companies should be prohibited from exporting per se,so long as U.S demand is met first.
