There's just no finding common ground with damn political wingnuts 🙄

Me: "Rather than focusing on which side may or may not have the worst extremism, can we just agree that it exists on both sides and it's all bad?" 🤷
Wingnut: "Sure... But extremism on the [left/right] is still much worse!"
Me: "Never mind." 🤦

Oh well, politics are for stupid people anyway.

Why must both sides of an argument always have the same value, logically speaking?

It's possible for one side to be more right that the other, no?

The political centre is different in different countries and changes over time anyway.

@Burnley123 I have nothing to say to you.

@Ducky That's fine, you seem extremely uninteresting.

Well, at the risk of being written off as a stupid wingnut, I don't see extremists on the left going out and shooting a bunch of people because they happen to have a different color skin.
Ducky · 31-35, F
@LordShadowfire I rest my case.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@Ducky Why, because I point out that one side is more violent than the other? The truth should not be up for debate. You "bothsiders" have an adversarial relationship with the truth.

Laugh all you like, Ducky. You can't laugh off the truth.

@Ducky You're expressing a position that is itself radical, and that consists in having to continuously reposition oneself at a perceived centre and appear "moderate" or even "super parties", no matter what. "Both sides bad" is a common rhetoric in such ideology.

You can find more about it googling "radical centrism" or "enlightened centrism".

@Elessar For whatever it's worth, I'm legit disappointed. I knew I'd probably get one or both of the political cliques here ganging up on me with their usual pack mentality crap, but I never saw you being a part of that crowd. But that's all I have to say. Be well.
Elessar · 26-30, M
@Ducky But mine wasn't an attempt at "pack mentality" or being part of any crowd, just pointing out that this position is potentially no more and no less radical and prone to be politicised (and taken advantage of) than the two better recognizable extremes. It's just an (external / trying-to-be external?) opinion/observation of mine; you're free to do what you want with it, I'm not going to force you to see things any differently if you'll decide to dismiss it.

To be clear, I don't think you're ill-intentioned; I think you're perhaps just exhausted/overwhelmed (idk if it's the right term?) towards the continuous and increasing conflict between the two historical parties, and so you're trying to find a balance, blaming equally the two fronts for the present situation.

Please tell me where the armed leftist militias reside? Which side attempted a violent overthrow of the government? Which side attempted to kidnap the governor of Michigan?

BTW, left wing violence was higher in the 70s, so this is not a case of tribalism. Just facts.

Here's another example:

@Fukfacewillie You and your friends should really see yourselves right now. 😂 That's all I have to say.
