Do Republicans want Americans to suffer from inflation?

First and foremost, inflation is a problem globally. Inflation is not a uniquely American problem. However, Americans do rely on their government to try and tackle it.

The Democrats are in power, they want to help the American people, and they have every incentive to try everything they can to fight inflation. But what about Republicans? What is their incentive? It should be to help the American people, to help their constituents. But their actions are proving otherwise because inflation will help them win the midterms. "It's all Biden's fault!"
Seriously? Democrats created global inflation? Do tell. How did they manage that? No, it's a global surge in demand as we all came out of pandemic isolation, not to mention the war. But Republicans will continue spreading disinformation and their constituents will fall for it. Republicans are far more interested in winning elections than helping your pocketbook.

Biden and the Democrats are trying in ways large and small. But every step of the way the Republicans are there to block them, stop them or make inflation worse.

Example #1: Biden nominated 5 new nominees for the Federal Reserve. It’s their job to tackle inflation. What did the Republicans do? They boycotted the vote making it impossible to get them in place.
Example #2: Biden put together the Supply Chain Disruptions Task Force which largely is the reason why Christmas didn’t go as badly as people were expecting. But then you get Texas governor Republican Greg Abbott changing how they do inspections at the border that has completely snarled all the supply trucks coming in from Mexico.
Example #3: the House put together a focused bill to lower the cost of insulin. Keep in mind that we’ll over 9 million Americans rely on insulin to manage their diabetes. Nearly every Republican voted against it.

So many more examples like the Republicans voting against removing the gas tax... Moving on.

Do you know what the GOP plan is to tackle inflation? Nothing. They have no plan. Just like their healthcare plan (nonexistent). Democrats are the only ones trying to help regular Americans. The Republican constituents should be outraged but they’re not because right-wing media keeps EVERYONE focused on fake outrages (“grooming bill”, CRT, voter fraud, etc). Right-wing propagandists do this every time. Spread lies and fear so no one notices that Republicans are raising taxes and trying to eliminate Social Security and Medicare. Republicans do not care about regular Americans.

I've seen so many Republicans on here blaming Biden for inflation.

Attempts are made to link this to a green new deal (which doesn't exist) and government stimulus (which is less than in most countries.).

In Britain, we have the same problem under a Conservative government. I hate them and would blame them for plenty but for me to blame them for inflation would either be economically illiterate or just lying.

@Burnley123 $3,000,000,000,000 for tree equity?
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@sunsporter1649 I have no idea what you are talking about.

However, I'm also pretty sure that you have no idea what you are talking about.

@Burnley123 Figures that with you lack of ability to read you would miss that little insert into the green new deal

@sunsporter1649 I'm not an expert on political economics. I've only read fifteen or so books on it. Give it a go though. Humour me please. 😎

@Burnley123 "Three billion dollars is a lot of money, especially when a political appointee is given only the skimpiest of legislative direction on how or where to spend it, as just happened in the House version of the Build Back Better bill. That measure directs the secretary of agriculture to spend $3 billion in pursuit of “tree equity.”

Even the washington compost knows about it, where were you?
dancingtongue · 80-89, M
@sunsporter1649 Wow, inflation really has hit. You just turned a $3 billion budget item into $3 trillion.
dancingtongue · 80-89, M
@Burnley123 To answer your question, the tree equity portion of Build Back Better is to assure that all infrastructure building results in at least a net loss of trees to halt the deforestation which contributes to climate change.

@dancingtongue As if there are not already laws to require planting three trees for every one cut down all across the USA
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@dancingtongue Yeah, those trees actually help your economy and maybe account for 0.0000.1% of inflation. Though Sporter's economic expertise is still profound.

@Burnley123 And that from someone insisting 2 year old's wear masks while opening the southern border to every diseased person storming in. Amusing

@sunsporter1649 I didn't vote for any if those things. Nor did I vote for Biden or Clinton.

Part of that regulatory financial burden y'all complain about, so they funded it to make sure it did not deter the much needed infrastructure fixing and you complain about that.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@dancingtongue It says so on my profile AND I said so on the first comment. I need to make it more obvious.

Good gracious mister Sun Sporter sir. I'm afraid that you have perceived my identity most awfully incorrect. Far from being an American fellow from the United States, I am in fact a rather British gentleman: born and raised in dear old blighty.

Sorry for the confusion, old chap. I'm off to drink some tea and munch on some crumpets. After which I shall referee a cricket match between Griffindor and Slytherin, followed by my dance with Mary Poppins.

@sunsporter1649 barely has enough of his wits remaining to remember that he is an American.

Did you mean all those tree laws that Trump uprooted?

The Biden administration moved Tuesday to restore key policies to a major federal law that requires government agencies to evaluate the environmental impacts of their actions.

The provisions had been stripped from the National Environmental Policy Act in 2021 by President Donald Trump.
