If he hadn't made it up, and had actually been assaulted in a hate crime, how long would the criminal have been in jail? That is exactly how long Jessie Smollett should be in jail. It is a travesty of justice if the convicted felon doesn't have to serve his term due to privilege.
@Roadsterrider LOOKS like you don't understand that bringing false charges IS just as serious. You left wing sociopaths of all low life's, should know this. You are alarmed when animals on death row were found to be innocent. False charges are every bit as serious. Point being? Everything you know is FALSE, and based solely on the left wing bullshit propaganda fed to you daily.
@bradhuskers First, I am not a leftie. I am to the right of Hannity and Levine. Hate crimes are a joke, how do you convince a jury that you know what a criminal is thinking, as far as false changes, if you read my previous comment, it says Jussie Smollett should serve a term as long as the person he falsely accused of the crime would serve.
There once was this racist named Jussie Who tried to fool all of us, See? His wingmen both Played Him like a Charade But this celebrity had the court Blushing 😍!
There once was a racist named Jussie, Who tried to fool people like us, see? But the judge wasn't fooled, So Juss fumed and drooled, And left the court frowzled and fussy.
Sickening. He should have received the same sentence as anyone would have who committed the crime he staged. I have to wonder where the outrage is from all the other "victims" in this "racist" country. Liars like Smellit make it more difficult for true victims of such a crime.
The only explanation offered in the order was that Smollett has never been convicted of a violent offense and would have completed his sentence of incarceration well before his appeal is decided.
For all the people scratching their heads about this, it seems pretty straightforward to me.
Obviously even narcissists are permitted to appeal their sentences. If on appeal the sentence (or indeed conviction?) is found to have been unjust, he can't have his 150 days of jail time back (although he probably deserves them, that's not our call). If his appeal fails, he's still going to jail for the remainder of his 150 days - or he's going to jail for even longer, and $150k poorer, if he goes on the run.
I really don't think it's so-called "black privilege". It's just money privilege. Were Mr Smollett white and orchestrated a similar kind of attack on himself like the arrogant piece of _______ he seems to be, he would have had a similar sentence and chance of appeal under similar terms - the only difference being that folks at MSNBC would be complaining about privileged treatment instead.
America's principal problem seems to me (from the outside and across the Pond) to be a privilege of money rather than race; exactly the same issue as everyone faces (or can afford not to face) in the UK.
Which obviously isn't to deny there are racist POSs among every class, creed, profession or colour of people in every country too, but I think that's beside the point here: Smollett can simply afford not to go to jail for at least a while longer.
Whoever is trying to imply Smollett is off the hook; that's clearly false. On the other hand, the fact that rich people can afford to tie their cases up in court for months or years hardly looks like justice.
@TexChik If there were legal justice under the law, James comey Hillary Clinton, etc....etc... the 7th floor of the FBI, etc......would all be in prison.
We are now a nation divided, all now guided by trial by media, selective justice, and a bought and paid for judicial system. Inhabited by leftist technocrat activist judges who pander to/facilitate the communist left's narrative of the world, rather than make their decisions according to the US Constitution.
This nation is no longer free and just, it is a banana republic thanks to:
@therighttothink50 100% correct. Don't forget the left wing prosecutor who lied to destroy kyle Rittenhouse. And the left wing press, media, etc...who did the same. Don't forget the new york southern district who tried to destroy President trump. Or the Obama administration, along with his justice department, which tried to destroy President trump based on bullshit propaganda. It's much much worse than you know. The silver lining in all this ? Virginia just threw out their left wing democrat governor, AND this November, it's rude awakening time for the left.
His complexion is his protection, some races have privilege today, especially if they are connected to elitists and push the false narratives the elite want them to push...
Ha ha! Did that idiot actually get jailed for faking a crime on himself? GOOD! To be honest I didn't expect any punishment, not even a slap to the wrist.
@Budwick ive said, in many places, many times that he is an idiot, doing dickheaded things. Managing to make any hate crime something to question, even when it is blatant. He should be in jail. Bottom line.
@Thinkerbell Yes, black privilege. Bill cosby is home now in a silk robe with a cuban cigar. Kobe got off. Don't forget linebacker Ray Lewis. Or orenthal j. Simpson. Or hall of famer Jim Brown who battered a number of ho's and wives in his day.
He's a dumb ass, there is no way he wins this appeal, he is wasting his money and will have to go back to jail anyway. They say say he would only serve half the time anyway (if he's a good prisoner), he is just putting off the inevitable. Unless he finds the two maga hat wearing bleach spraying noose carriyng homophobic guys who did this to him. 🤣
He is very, very lucky, with his big stupid mouth and his histrionics, that he was not put into the general population when he WAS in jail. He would have been beaten to a pulp...for reals! 🤣
