Jussie Smollett Ordered Released From Jail After Serving Less Than A Week Of 5 Month Sentence Pending Appeal

Convicted felon Jussie Smollett was ordered to be released from jail on Wednesday pending appeal of his 150-day sentence that went into effect last week for staging a hate crime hoax against himself and lying to law enforcement about it.

“The one-page order issued by the Illinois Appellate Court on Wednesday afternoon stated that Smollett was to be released from the Cook County Jail after signing a $150,000 recognizance bond, which would not require him to post any money,” the Chicago Tribune reported. “The only explanation offered in the order was that Smollett has never been convicted of a violent offense and would have completed his sentence of incarceration well before his appeal is decided.”

If he hadn't made it up, and had actually been assaulted in a hate crime, how long would the criminal have been in jail? That is exactly how long Jessie Smollett should be in jail. It is a travesty of justice if the convicted felon doesn't have to serve his term due to privilege.

@MarineBob Hate is irrelevant, I don't think crimes are committed because the criminal loves his victim, ever. If there is a crime, they should investigate until they find and can prove that the perpetrator committed the crime.

@bradhuskers First, I am not a leftie. I am to the right of Hannity and Levine. Hate crimes are a joke, how do you convince a jury that you know what a criminal is thinking, as far as false changes, if you read my previous comment, it says Jussie Smollett should serve a term as long as the person he falsely accused of the crime would serve.
