Hopefully Putin is the next one to leave this world.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
And, it's not helping Putin's ego... or those who have dedicated their lives (and their online posts) to massaging it.

4 generals KILLED? For real?
ShellSeeker · F
It’s been like watching Mr Bean go to war.
Alfarrobas · 31-35, M
Good point. But if see them as pawns... meat for the grinder, it's kinda... meh, ok. A means to an end.
Bad4U · 22-25, F
@Alfarrobas well these soldiers all had a family... aa mother, a wife... it was always the russian mothers that became a problem for the leadership.... 1917... 1990...
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@Alfarrobas They're human beings.
Alfarrobas · 31-35, M
@Bad4U Yes. No words aggains that. But... hum... We dont' see all things the same.
Where some people see a person, other see a messia, others an heretic, others an enemy, others numbers, other a human being, others and abject creation, etc. So... yep.

The power in Russia is mostly a combination of terrain that is hard to attack and a nuclear arsenal
Nimbus · M
If the Russian Army was a football team they would be facing relegation.

Hence now President Putin minded to take up his staff officers' suggestion of bringing in Syrian mercenaries.
That they would know nothing about Russia and the Ukraine and probably care even less, is irrelevant. Nor did the Russians know or care much about Syria and Iraq when involved there.
It would also have a strong propaganda element within Russia by showing that they do have "friends" in the outside world.

And you believe this story because?????
Confined · 56-60, M
@hippyjoe1955 I am keeping an open mind, but Im not sure it is fake news. Time will tell.
Bad4U · 22-25, F
@hippyjoe1955 beasically because ukraine claims it killed 12k russians which is to much. most sources like nato generals and chinese military report 6-7k killed russians. and even the most conservative russian friendly state medias like syria and cuba report 4-5k dead russians. so yeah everyone of those numbers is bigger... and as for the killed generals not even russia is hiding that its offical russian state media.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Bad4U Hiding or simply not making up a false story. The fog of war is very thick right now and the need for Ukraine and the west to exaggerate the Russian losses is immense. I simply don't believe any numbers that come from anyone involved. Simply too much pressure to make them up.
Rickg · 31-35, M
Something went very very wrong if one general got killed
beckyromero · 36-40, F
You can also include our losses in 20 years in Afghanistan.
Ryannnnnn · 31-35, M
It just goes to show how little Putin values human life even more so.
Jenna76 · 36-40, F
Yea not going great for the "Genius"
redredred · M
My peace of mind isn’t that important, globally but I simply refuse to believe most of what I read of hear on the news. Russia invaded Ukraine but after that, the fog of war makes it impossible to really know what’s what.
ArishMell · 70-79, M
It is surprising that they seem to have so many staff officers so close to the front line. A dead senior commander may be a hero to his men, but that's all. They would prefer a live CO even if he's well back behind the lines.
vetguy1991 · 51-55, M
I was in Iraq twice, they didn't fight very hard

@vetguy1991 i take your word for it... no experience like that myself. but the ukraines definitely putting up a fight
vetguy1991 · 51-55, M
@Bad4U very much so
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Bad4U We honestly don't know. Russia is not doing the American style of war which has completely flummoxed the American press. They only understand 'shock and awe' and are at a complete loss to explain 'encounter and encircle'. Both achieve their goal. However the shock and awe is much more destructive of property and civilian life while encounter and encircle takes longer and there are higher losses of military lives. That aside the reporting out of Ukraine has been so hysterical as Ukraine tries to get NATO to intervene we really have no idea what the actual numbers are. All we do know is Ukraine's forces have been encircled and they are given an avenue to leave if they are not nazis. The Ukrainian nazis are having a difficult time of it.

Your information at one end is correct and not at the other end.

@Darksideinthenight2 You're missing the point... China is just as dependent on the world as the world is on China... possibly more. It is possible for the world to relocate outside of China... they're in a fix.

@Darksideinthenight2 That's not really a problem. Sure, the best of all worlds would be if everyone acted reasonably. And, it takes just 1 ego-maniac to throw everything off balance. But, once that balance is thrown off, there are plenty of paths to a solution. The key is to keep fear and emotional outrage in check and advance with moderation. It's easy to start wars; not so easy to retreat from them. Putin has obviously not learned this. So far, it seems the rest of the world has.
