So russia has more dead soldiers in 2 weeks in ukraine then the usa in the whole iraq war...

also 4 generals killed and 10 generals suspended by putin...

and that while fighting a neighboring country where you should have superior logistics and not on the other side of the world.

this is really embarassing for the russian army...

Hence now President Putin minded to take up his staff officers' suggestion of bringing in Syrian mercenaries.

That they would know nothing about Russia and the Ukraine and probably care even less, is irrelevant. Nor did the Russians know or care much about Syria and Iraq when involved there.

It would also have a strong propaganda element within Russia by showing that they do have "friends" in the outside world.
