Do you suffer from keyboard warrior syndrome?

I do but I think I have it somewhat under control. 😝

Should be obvious, after something like 300 replies to that spoiled Ketchup bottle.. 😌
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@Elessar Oh man, that was epic. More like a Keyboard gladiator! 👍
@Elessar I missed that one. Folks must’ve really been bored that day. 😳
Elessar · 31-35, M
@bijouxbroussard Slow days at work, and this guy often took a good 20m to 3h to reply so it's not that I felt much the need to give up. It spanned over, if I remember well, a week or a bit less than a week.
firefall · 61-69, M
of course, that's a prime indicator of the syndrome, thinking you have it under some control ....

No... i type with a box on my head to avoid any kind of trouble😏😂
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@LadyJ But what is the other person is WRONG?

HOW can you let them THINK that they BEAT YOU!
Zeuro · 26-30, F
@Burnley123 I know you mean this as a joke but this is literally the bane of my existence. How dare they think that they’re right and I’m wrong
firefall · 61-69, M
@Burnley123 OMG Someone is WRONG on the Internet!
Zeuro · 26-30, F
Kind of, I keyboard yell at bigots
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@Zeuro
I keyboard yell at bigots

SW is an opportunity-rich environment for that. 😜
GermanAf · 26-30, M
I dooooo so much. But at least I can set my trusty keyboard down and do something else if it gets too heated.
Sharky86 · 36-40, M
Nah I don't think so.
LegendofPeza · 61-69, M
I refuse to be drawn into a tit for tat , but I can be quite easily provoked into exposing lies and disinformation.

😉
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@LegendofPeza I'm similar. TBH back on EP I was pretty awful sometimes and always looking to argue. I was so different to my IRL persona. I think I've leant to tone it down a bit and be a bit more human. I hope.
LegendofPeza · 61-69, M
@Burnley123 I was a complete twat on ep most of the time.(Although my excessive alcohol consumption then does give me a bit of an excuse.)
checkoutanytime · 46-50, M
I warrior up to assults. Aside from that i let it flow for the purpose of peace.
CorvusBlackthorne · 100+, M
I rather suspect this site only exists because of persons addicted to arguing on the internet.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@CorvusBlackthorne It's also for sharing problems and meeting other troubled souls. I use it to vent as well sometimes. I just can't take it as seriously as I once did. I do think you misunderstand Pics but he also misunderstands you and you are both determined that the smart thing to do is win by typing the best zinger.
deadgerbil · 26-30, M
It's hard not to talk sh!t online. I try to keep my keyboard on a tight leash lol
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@deadgerbil I just think that there is a limit.

If the argument is to win and impress the audience, well the audience rolled their eyes and logged off after message five of six. Assuming the worst in the other person and attempting to intellectually humiliate them always makes your own position lool worse, whether 'the facts are on your side' or not.

This is not aimed at you byw.
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
Welcome to SW, home of the keyboard warriors. Lol
I dont have the energy
walabby · M
Nah. Arguing with most people here is a waste of time.
basilfawlty89 · 36-40, M
Sometimes. It's important to be right on the internets.
Abstraction · 61-69, M
I used to. I find I lessen myself in the process. I'm up for civilised conversation, respectful disagreement, but that's rare. I spend more time on an art forum.
People are constantly fired up by the inherently antagonistic (and often manipulative) media and social media and come here to take out their consequential angst on 'idiots'. You write a phrase and they see behind it all the myriad of stories about crazy leftists/ rightists they've been fed - as if that's you.
No. I even try to avoid prolonged debates now, if I don’t think they’ll stay civil.
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
No and I just blocked one
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
@iamonfire696 see this post. I blocked him because I was done with him and now he puts this on me.

CorvusBlackthorne · 100+, M
@iamonfire696 He (I) felt his original statement was drastically misunderstood. When SomeMichGuy chose to falsely accuse and block, he took it as a personal judgment of character. Then you chose to perceive him in the same fashion, because he took the original attack personally.

You did not have to block him. He was already leaving. You chose to block him.
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
@CorvusBlackthorne I know you are the same person and you are contacting me when I have blocked you. I am reporting you. Now leave me alone.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
I suffer from a need to defend myself when I'm falsely accused, as you can see here. When I was in prison, I had it hammered into my head that if somebody makes an accusation, and you don't do anything, it must be true.

So now somebody makes an accusation here, I counter it, and everybody thinks I'm just this big aѕshole.

Hell, maybe I am.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@LordShadowfire Ermm... You do go looking for trouble too.

I respect your wit and I like you. Just why so serious?
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@Burnley123 I don't know. I think part of it is I've just got this shitty view of myself I can't shake, so when people tell me I'm a bad person, I internalize it. Then I get upset with them because they just confirmed my own opinion of myself.

TL;DR: I hate myself, but nobody's allowed to hate me.
ron122 · 41-45, M
@LordShadowfire We have our differences but you're alright👍
