Now that it is well established that Trump supported the overthrow of the elected government...

Can he be tried for treason yet?

The prosecution won't stick if a jury can be convinced that the government was elected through a "crooked" or "fraudulent" election, though, and with so many people polled still believing garbage like this, forgetting all other things that would have to be proved, trying Trump for standing up for the lies millions of Americans believe sounds like a really bad idea.

I get that it's not "right," and even that it's wrong and not the way the justice system ought to work, but if you think the capitol riot/insurrection/tourism event was ugly, imagine what will happen if Trump is put in handcuffs for standing up for the lies that millions of his supporters still believe.

On the bright side, though, I guess, if it comes to pass that you could sell this to a jury as treason, there would likely be no statute of limitations on it, unlike so many more plausible crimes Trump may have committed.

@MistyCee Crimes such as....
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@MistyCee The documentation that the Supreme Court is allowing to come out of hiding is showing pretty clearly there was no fraud in the election and there were attempts to overthrow the election. And... why there was such an effort (as lame as it was) to keep it hidden.

There is a very real possibility the fat one and his cronies will do jail time. Imagine what would happen if George Floyd's murderer was led away in handcuffs or those white supremacists in Georgia received life imprisonment with no possibility of parole. The insurrectionists have their hands full with their own legal matters and "the base" at large won't do shit for someone who favours the vaccine.

Lock him up. Along with Rudy Giuliani, Sydney Powell, Mike Flynn, Moe Brooks, and Josh Hawley. Ted Cruz can't go to jail because he's still trying to be "a good dad" and will just blame his kids. Let them do the jail time for him. He will explain it to Tucker Carlson.

@MarkPaul "The Cambridge Dictionary defines “insurrection” as: “an organized attempt by a group of people to defeat their government and take control of their country, usually by violence”

By that definition, there was no “insurrection” at the United States Capitol on Jan. 6, according to the FBI. Reuters reports:

The FBI has found scant evidence that the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol was the result of an organized plot to overturn the presidential election result, according to four current and former law enforcement officials.

"Ninety to ninety-five percent of these are one-off cases," said a former senior law enforcement official with knowledge of the investigation. "Then you have five percent, maybe, of these militia groups that were more closely organized. But there was no grand scheme with Roger Stone and Alex Jones and all of these people to storm the Capitol and take hostages."

This report is a devastating blow to President Joe Biden and Democrats, who have attempted to make the existence of an “insurrection” on Jan. 6 a key issue in the 2022 midterm elections. Reuters does note that some “cells of protesters,” including members of the Oath Keepers and Proud Boys, did coordinate to “break into the Capitol,” but the FBI found “no evidence that the groups had serious plans about what to do if they made it inside.” "

@sunsporter1649 Oh, so now you're trusting a dictionary? Amusing. What's your dictionary say about the word, "eliminated?" I'll give you a sentence for context: "The nuclear threat from North Korea has been eliminated."

The report that the nuclear threat was never eliminated is a devastating blow to "the base" who can't stand to live with the idea their fat incompetent idol is also a chronic liar.

@MarkPaul Found those "less than 100" American citizens you abandoned to the raghead terrorists yet?

MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@sunsporter1649 No, have you? I'm beginning to think you really aren't interested in those less than 100 Americans, am I right? Or, are you just lazy and incompetent like you know who? Either way, you have blood on your hands.

Have you found those more than 100 dead voters? How's your Pennzoil investment?

@sunsporter1649 Apparently Rudy Giuliani is in trouble with the law. Will you be offering him an internship? He needs funds.
