[@10636,QueenOfQuirk] Basically like libertarian then?
QueenOfQuirk · 22-25, F
[@1254567,KlonB] I don’t have an in depth knowledge of politics but by its general definition, I’ll say mostly
KlonB · 41-45, M
[@10636,QueenOfQuirk] I can't say I know everything about libertarian ideology either but it kind of boils down to "and it harm non, do as though wilt". Doesn't seem to quite work out that way though, as they end up with the "do as thou wilt" part mostly.
Neither. I reject both left and right wings and prefer to be on the ground.

It's funny that so many people are saying neither, when there are such pitched battles on here between these two sides.

In Canada those are the names of our largest political parties and I have rarely voted for either of them. I usually vote for the NDP, New Democratic Party, which is kinda socialist.

In my actual political views I'm an anarchist, but I still think voting is important under the system we've got.
SolveEtCoagula · 31-35, F
I'm left but I can't say which field. I have schools of thought that mirror my own but I'm not sure where to place them as to the exact definition.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
Having two options is pretty reductive.

Which is your favourite colour: orange or purple?

Mine is red fwiw
Entwistle · 51-55, M
I'm very left wing. Anarcho syndicalist.
Liveinyorkuk · 61-69
Hard left. Borderline Marxist
KlonB · 41-45, M
I am not what most would think of as a conservative. Maybe 80 years ago or so they might have. I am political because the threats against me are political. At this point in time you either chose a side or you will probably die along with everything you've ever known or held dear.
Emosaur · M
Democratic socialist.

I was democratically chosen to make the sandwiches. I was liberal with the butter yet conservative with the cheese, there wasnt much cheese to go around.🙄

If someone kills another person with a gun; do you blame the manufacturer of the gun for the death, or do you blame the person who pulled the trigger?

Answer that question and you'll know if you're a liberal or a conservative.

This framing is harsh on Kyle Rittenhouse.
Constitutional progressive and regulated capitalist.

Anarcho-capitalist communalism is a great system, but wouldn't work in the U.S. as it's more geared toward developing economies.
SolveEtCoagula · 31-35, F
[@1026,LeopoldBloom] We're going back to a developing country so it could be said that would still be a great system depending on if you actually view America as developed or not, I don't and I haven't considered America a developed world for awhile.

In the future once America falls here due to poor infrastructure, poor parenting, economic also overall nationalism failing (again,) capitalism making the divide between the rich and poor in America look like the Dominican Republic where people live in shacks with the McMansions being for tourists and the police with AKS patrolling the streets, and the QAnon cult starts doomsday... we'll have to install some kind of system that will work surely.

[@394395,SolveEtCoagula] I'm thinking of countries in Africa with weak central governments that already have areas that are economically isolated. Communalism would work well in these places. It's possible that it would develop after a breakdown of central government in the U.S.

Unfortunately, the scenario you describe, of a tiny elite surrounded by masses of poor people, kept in check by a brutal security apparatus, is surprisingly stable as long as the elites can avoid fighting among themselves.

The article you cited is interesting. I would agree that we are regressing toward a more developing-nation posture, and that this began in the 1980s under Ronald Reagan, although the seeds were planted earlier. There's no other way to look at wage stagnation (even as workers become more productive) and the massive transfer of wealth from the lower and middle classes to the super-rich. The last time this happened, in the Gilded Age, it was followed by enactment of progressive policies.

[@849619,SkeetSkeet] I bet that cowboy naked dude is a democrat
ZashaKitty · 22-25, F
neither. I stay far away from politics as I can. Seems to just make people angry and hateful
Allelse · 31-35, M
As a simple citizen I'm a liberal, but as a ruler I'd be a fascist dictator.
almostinvisible · 56-60, M
You left out the choice of neither, so I can't answer.
