Does white evangelical support for Trump show hypocracy

The politicization of evangelicals in America is dangerous – especially when they're supporting a loveless, graceless amoralism loaded with hate.
It's probably the result of an apocalyptic thinking, where the second coming of "Christ" is expected to occur soon.

Being an evangelical has ceased being about worshiping God and spreading His word. It has changed to worshiping Trump, their new God, and spreading Trump's word.

Haven't you heard? It's the great Evangelical American tradition, preserving power and like-mindedness through empty and hypocritical "faith-based" teaching.

No more than their usual hypocrisy.

Actually, with separation of church and state, no president in US history could be described as "godlike." Also, given that different religions and denominations have different constructs and conceptions of God, that's a rather vague and meaningless description anyway.

It validates that evangelicalism was always intended to be a political weapon, disguised as a religious movement based on God's word. It's another version of (perhaps) well-meaning people being duped by power-hungry intentioned individuals. See "Rev. Jim Jones," et al.

Actually it's all religions, the trend even for Catholicism is on the downward swing in the USA.

Of course it does. Dogmatism makes people dumb. And religion to a degree encourages ignorance. 🙂
