Can we thank Colin Powell for making the truth irrelevant with his long career of lies?

Lies like-
"It's not a baby formula factory-. It's a chemical weapons plant!"
And Powell's classic speech before the UN-

WMDs! Take my word for it!

Yes
Thank you and thank you smelly George bush and Stinky Tony Blair for lying to us all. Including the mysterious death of Dr David Kelly who outed the threat as exaggerated.
Wt7 if you know what this means you know.

@Stopmakingsense
millions poured into the streets to protest it! It was vastly unpopular in both countries.
Those who didn't want the war protested in the streets - millions? I don't know how many and I wonder if you do. In any case I only said I suspect large numbers of the US and UK populations wanted that war and I still do suspect that. no doubt it was vastly unpopular and vastly popular; just by different groups of people.

@Really 11 million American people marched in cities across the USA and in Honolulu ten thousand of us matched - I brought my children- on the Saturday after mothers day 2003.
Doubt what I know. I'm certain you think that's enough to dismiss eleven million people.
Stopmakingsense · 56-60, F
@Really suspect whatever-. Your side will kill people, and make up the suspicions later.
Well, HE admitted that those were based upon bad intelligence; I don't know if he went so far as to say he was used, but having such an upright guy give a speech based upon lies *really* bothered him.

This was in coverage of him in the past week.

I think those are outliers of his typical behavior, attitude, and relationship to truth.

He admitted the mistake and apologized..let him now RIP!

@Really this was famous for most of our lives.

@Stopmakingsense The massacre of My Lai villagers by the US military is certainly famous. I can't believe it was so long ago - I was barely into my 30s, although I don't remember how long it took for the horrible, ugly truth to come out, about what those American soldiers did.

But that's not what I'm asking @Wiseacre for, i.e. the actual, original source and the context he's quoting when he says:
[c=804600]how about this one-"This soldier's account is proven false by the good relationship between the US and the South Vietnamese People."?[/c]
Is it from a US court proceeding? What soldier is referred to, and what was his account, so contrary to "[c=804600]the good relationship between the US and the South Vietnamese People."[/c]? The fact that you think it's a famous statement is of no help at all and I wonder why you mentioned that.

So far Wiseacre has not responded.

@Really I guess the fact that we once knew anything can't matter. Your forgetful country is the worst thing ever.
You want to say my normal memory isn't that-. You claim adults don't have to know the things they learned. Fatal for you. Your country isn't going to exist, and reminding people that they knew why is not possible. You forget things too fast.

@MikeQ LoL. Sure. Whatever.
Still not sure if he was in on the con or just a useful idiot for Rumsfeld.
Stopmakingsense · 56-60, F
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow he lied about a massacre in Vietnam, a formula factory in Iraq that the US bombed, an aspirin factory in Sudan that Powell claimed looked like a weapon stash, the Gulf War in 1991, the Iraq invasion-. It was an illustrious and long career of blatant lies
@Stopmakingsense Just saying, the best way to sell a con is to find a trusting idiot to be the face of it. I am just not sure which side of that equation he was on.
Stopmakingsense · 56-60, F
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow then we'll never know. It's called gaslighting.
Oh are you on your racist rant now ?
