Can we thank Colin Powell for making the truth irrelevant with his long career of lies?

Lies like-
"It's not a baby formula factory-. It's a chemical weapons plant!"
And Powell's classic speech before the UN-

WMDs! Take my word for it!

Yes
Thank you and thank you smelly George bush and Stinky Tony Blair for lying to us all. Including the mysterious death of Dr David Kelly who outed the threat as exaggerated.
Wt7 if you know what this means you know.
TheArbitrator · 36-40, M
@Carlisle Colin Powell was claiming Iraq had WMDs and pushing for the invasion of Iraq before both George Bush took office.
Carlisle · F
@TheArbitrator hhm I wonder why
Stopmakingsense · 56-60, F
@TheArbitrator Clinton bombed Baghdad in 1998 many times.
Carlisle · F
really they all signed up for the deal.
How you can excuse the President of the United States when he had ultimate refusal is beyond me.
War criminals and they aren’t the only dangerous leaders in the world.
But it’s just a betrayal you know. When you find out the leaders of your own country lied.
Like this was a special case of lying.

@TheArbitrator
Colin Powell was claiming Iraq had WMDs and pushing for the invasion of Iraq before both George Bush took office.
That's interesting. where could I confirm it?
Carlisle · F
@Really I’ll confirm it
Nearly half a million people dead in Iraq alone. They didn’t get killed by aliens.
Really · 80-89, M
@Carlisle Not to defend the people you name, but I suspect large numbers of the US and UK populations wanted that war and were happy to swallow any justification they were offered.
Carlisle · F
@Really yes. And my sister fought in those wars. She was in the British Royal Navy.
Because of certain horrible event that changed the lives of everyone I know and probably you know.
It sucks really.
She’s now doing a masters and her thesis is how the media portray Muslims compared to other people.

@Carlisle
Nearly half a million people dead
You're aiming at the wrong target. I only asked Arbitrator where I can confirm his statement about Colin Powell warmongering against Iraq, pre-Bush 1&2.
Carlisle · F
@Really ok I may have got my tags mixed up.
Really · 80-89, M
@Carlisle And my father served in the Royal air force and his 2 brothers were in the navy (LTC) and the desert campaign in WW2. All were scarred for life in one way or another and none lived past 65. My home was damaged and houses within a short block were completely destroyed by bombing while I was a youngster living there with my mother. Well, big deal; none of that has anything to do with Colin Powell's actions regarding the Iraq war, and neither does your sister's naval service of which I'm sure you're justifiably proud.

@Really millions poured into the streets to protest it! It was vastly unpopular in both countries.
Carlisle · F
@Really course it does. If all of them never lied that war would never have come to pass. Or at least they could have been truthful about it at least.
How many wars we gonna have? We just keep having them.
As proud as she is and we are.
The lie that was told about everything surround the events that led us up to the war led to the xenophobia we see today. Hate crimes.
It was their lies that got us here.

Those who didn't want the war protested in the streets - millions? I don't know how many and I wonder if you do. In any case I only said I suspect large numbers of the US and UK populations wanted that war and I still do suspect that. no doubt it was vastly unpopular and vastly popular; just by different groups of people.
Stopmakingsense · 56-60, F
@Really 11 million American people marched in cities across the USA and in Honolulu ten thousand of us matched - I brought my children- on the Saturday after mothers day 2003.
Doubt what I know. I'm certain you think that's enough to dismiss eleven million people.
Stopmakingsense · 56-60, F
@Really suspect whatever-. Your side will kill people, and make up the suspicions later.
