Who was responsible for the botched pull out in Afghanistan? We don't have to wait for the complete answer.

People who were inside the meeting with the joint chiefs and President Biden are leaking the story.

It was President Biden who pulled a number out of his rear end, 600 troops, to be left in Afghanistan at Bagram AFB.

He insisted that no more than 600 troops could be left at Bagram and ORDERED his generals to withdraw all but 600.

The generals advised Biden that they could NOT maintain Bagram with only 600 troops, but Biden insisted.

Then, because the generals could not maintain or defend Bagram in the face of those orders, they withdrew ALL of their troops overnight.

The only person responsible for the Taliban's actions is the Taliban. I'm sure there are many different ways things could be handled. And yes, the situation is not good. But let's keep the facts straight, no one person is responsible for the actions of another

@MaliaAgain Except that the president grossly mismanaged the situation resulting in American and friendly Afghan deaths. Otherwise I agree with you completely.

@DavidT8899 Biden certainly believes that...🤣🤣🤣
DavidT8899 · 22-25, M
@4meAndyou Of course.Personal responsibility is always an unknown concept to a progressive.

@MaliaAgain that's like the gun manufacturers are not responsible for shootings. ...thanks for agreeing @4meAndyou @DavidT8899 @carpediem

@MarineBob well they are not. Who says they are? But with everything else that's dangerous they need to be better regulated.
MaliaAgain · 36-40, F
@DavidT8899 I'm confused by your comment. It seems like you agree a person needs to be responsible of their own actions. Which is basically what I said, but the tone seems like you disagree

Editing to add I meant the second comment

@DavidT8899 as to Donald Trump, he did also promise to withdraw troops from what I understand, but I could be wrong because I try my best to stay out of politics
DavidT8899 · 22-25, M
@MaliaAgain In fact,he DID withdraw troops,but he did it in a smart,responsible way that insured the safety of our allies in the area.
