@Stopmakingsense The government has no right to use private land for social programs. The government would have to offer the owner enough money so they would want to sell it first. I would refuse them unless they offered more than the land was worth to me.

There'd be no Tiger Woods, and opportunity for others, which then would just cause more poor and homeless people. I think there's plenty of vacant lot already to put free housing.

@SW-User I dont think I have an answer. But I cant help but think of the Roman empire, where to take the minds of the people away from the serious issues of the day, Caesar ordered Bread and Circuses at the Coliseum. Now we have the government Printing money and Professional sport 24/7.

@DropTopDig I wont judge for any other nation. But I know that half the football and Cricket players in my country. Would be in jail or doing community service in between mowing lawns for a living if they weren't paid to throw or kick a ball.
