I’ve gotten to the point where as soon as someone says anything nasty about “liberals” or comments about “the looney left” I immediately write them off as part of the “racist right”. I have no further interest in them after that.
🙁

@bijouxbroussard But it gets weird when the definition of the "radical left" is "anyone who disagrees with me." Hence, One America News referred to Fox News as part of the "left wing media!" (As I recall, it was because Fox called Arizona for Biden.) 😆
@DrWatson Lol, I do remember that. Calling Fox “left-wing” was pretty ridiculous. 😅

You know what else is also rich?

In 1866 the Republicans in congress were the ones who wanted to abolish slavery and ensure rights for the freed slaves.

They were called "the Radical Republicans"

@bijouxbroussard Absolutely.

@JaggedLittlePill And historically, in Europe, the people who wanted to limit the power of monarchies and give more strength to Parliaments, and thus who were advocating the creation of Republics, were called "liberal Republicans"

My politics are somewhat radical left so I find it bizarre.

Its like Mccarthyism without communism. Or even without social democracy

The American right are really mockable here but in a sense its a sign of strength, in that they have such an ideological hold of their base.

If a third of America can think that Joe Biden (Joe Biden?!?) is radical left then what do they see as centrist? Its the sign of very right-wing Overton Window and a group of people motivated by intense paranoia.

For example, a group of them tried to overturn an election because they feared the 'radical left'. What next?
JoeyFoxx · 51-55, M
@Burnley123 what makes you think that a majority of these folks can even define their ideology with details and facts?

It’s entirely subjective and based on mis-applied labels.

Not a lot of reality there.

Haven’t they just spent a year setting fire to other people’s property in some countries?
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@Lapochka Our anarchists don’t fit so neatly on the left-right spectrum - and by and large don’t vote anyhow, which is why they’re roundly ignored by our major “left” party.

Right on! We’re not ordinary and generous, so nice for them to say that.
