A few years back there was a spate of cases where kids were mauled by a few.
That led to an investigation into breeding and whether some varieties were conspicuously aggressive.
Then illegal dog fights were discovered as a thing and that gave it a criminal element so the government had to act and they decided to ban Bulldogs with certain genetic features.
Some families even lost their pets as a result !
So yes it’s a political subject

Yeah, at this point they are a political hot topic.
No one says anything about other common breeds like Golden retrievers, huskies, labs, or whatever.
Some things just end up political. Covid-19 is the same way.

No, not really, although I guess if you count law as part of politics then I guess a tiny bit cos there are laws around whether or not you can own a pit bull.

They are very sweet. This push to make them monsters is nothing more then eventually trying to take all our pets away. Slaves were not allowed to own pets.
