I always thought parents could play a role in their kids lives and teach them also. You know, parent....teach them how to navigate the world. 🤷🏻♀️

@Keepitsimple you don’t understand... you are only supposed to have children... not raise them!!!

Why is that the teachers fault? If that stuff isn't in the curriculum, they don't teach it.
Tbh I don't think it's solely the fault of the teachers that students learn nothing. For one, parents and students have to also do their part. It's the same for every job. A teacher's job is to teach, it's up to the parents to guide their kids how to fully learn what the teacher has taught and the responsibility of the students to apply those learning so that they wont forget what they have been taught. The same way you can't blame your financial advisor for losing all your money because you decided not to pull out of an investment, they are there to only give you advise and guidance, the rest is up to you.
Teachers should be well paid because teaching is a hard, time intensive and emotionally intense job. When you're a good teacher, that is.
The teachers are not choosing the curriculum they teach and the fact that the curriculum doesn't have everything you'd like to see on it doesn't mean that teachers should suffer for it.

Everyone says they didn't learn how to pay taxes, balance a checkbook, or apply for a job in school. Was I the only one who took financial math in high school?
