This is Schoen's actual comment: "I represented all sorts of reputed mobster figures: alleged head of Russian mafia in this country, Israeli mafia and two Italian bosses, as well a guy the government claimed was the biggest mafioso in the world."

@TryingtoLava Mine, too. A few family members as well. Doesn’t change the fact that many people using it [b]don’t[/b] know its history. It’s like the folks who want to “own” the “n” word. It’s self-defeating and makes no sense. But I imagine my perspective is probably generational.

@bijouxbroussard And it occurs in all cultures. Believe me, Black Irish doesn't mean what many think it does. Each group has its own language and idioms and no outsiders can emulate that perfectly. But words are just that - words. Like everything else, when we get too caught up in their analysis, it's easy to lose sight of the actual issue.
