She’s the token black person played for identity politics. Granted nobody cares that she is half southern Asian. Asian doesn’t buy you any victim points from the uneducated.

She is a horrendous VP pick.

Had Biden picked Tulsi Gabbard I would have been all for it. She is an actual strong woman with military service, deep rooted culture, and doesn’t see people as left or right but Americans.

People don’t have a problem with women being in power. People don’t have a problem with other races being in power.

But when you pick the worst of the bunch, that’s what people are upset about. So stop making up these moral dilemmas think people are upset it’s a woman.

@LeopoldBloom Yeah, ok, so her early life involved a lot of anti LGBT doctrine, but her voting record is as strongly pro LGBT as anyone in the Congress. When choosing whether to truth someone's judgment, would you not prefer to base your choice on their actions?
@BlueMetalChick She never repudiated the cult or clarified whether she's still influenced by its leader. And her parting gift was to sponsor a bill discriminating against trans athletes. So she is just as homophobic as she always was; she just suppressed it to get along until now.

I would expect the same contrition from Gabbard that Robert Byrd displayed for his involvement with the KKK - repeated apologies and unequivocal denunciation, along with going out of her way to support LGBT rights specifically. She didn't do that, so fuck her.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@LeopoldBloom Voting in favor of every pro LGBT agenda is somehow being anti LGBT? I was raised in a culture that despises gays, non-Muslims, atheists, women who have premarital sex, and Sufis yet I wouldn't vote anything but in their favor.

I imagine I’m going to be blocking a whole bunch of folks exercising both their misogyny and their racism this go-round.
And the sad part is, it won’t just be men. 🙄
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
@bijouxbroussard On the contrary I find a disturbing amount of women on this site are the most brutal mysoginists.
@JimboSaturn Yes. It’s pretty unfortunate, really.

@bijouxbroussard I am not commenting directly on politics any more; i've had enough. Still, let's hope the misogyn/racism doesn't get too bad. It has no place in our society regardless of who it is directed at.

the gentlemen left some time ago... thank goodness!

It's always refreshing to see a woman succeed in what's generally a male occupation.

In politics, unfortunately, it's too often achieved by riding the shirttails of powerful and/or rich males.
MeowsoliniReturns · 51-55, F
@Heartlander Thank you! Someone who gets it!

Well Jeff Sessions and Bill Barr certainly were , so the rest don't stand a chance.

😉
yeronlyman · 51-55, M
She’s refreshing compared to pence
Time will tell on performance, I be optimistic

I think also the WH press secretary Jen Psaki is articulate and intelligent and speaks fact based... relief

Though Sean Spicer was entertaining
Haha

@yeronlyman Yes listening to Psaki speak was a breathe of fresh air! She seems so informed, intelligent, and civil! So nice to hear intelligent people instead of a rag-tag group of toxic misfits.
yeronlyman · 51-55, M
@JimboSaturn nicely said man

I'm not intimidated by @BlueMetalChick 😏 although I'd prefer her over Harris any day.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@CrustyDDingus Well I am a convicted felon and lifelong con artist so be careful.

But even I wouldn't go to bat for fucking Goldman Sachs.
CrustyDDingus · 36-40, M
@BlueMetalChick Harris is another kind of felon; the kind yet to be tried and convicted. A politician for the sake of politics and nothing more.
Harriet03 · 41-45, F

Wait, you're talking about Psaki, not Gorman. Agreed - Psaki was outstanding.

I think you meant “men.”
MeowsoliniReturns · 51-55, F
@SW-User I meant all the pathetic excuses for men here on SW.

@MeowsoliniReturns I got a little block heavy on 1/6 so I might be missing most of it.

I unblocked a few to hear the fun.

My problem with her is that it wasn't a very good poem.

@BlueMetalChick I would like to see her be given a damn chance before she is judged. Jesus fucking Christ! She's been in office only 2 days now!
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@MeowsoliniReturns Well, here's to hoping I'm wrong. Cos I really, REALLY hope I'm wrong. But I gotta tell you, people aren't in the habit of suddenly doing a 180 on the behaviors that they've based their entire political career off of.

I'm judging her based upon her many years as attorney general. If there's a proper metric to judge upon I would say it's their actions, yes?
