A Hundred Years From Now, When We're All Gone, Mike Pence Will Be Remembered FAVORABLY As the U.S. Vice President Who Faced Down a Would-Be Dictator.

... only after he did everything to play up to the would-be dictator.

@MarkPaul

But when history renders it's verdict, Pence will be viewed favorably.

He will undoubtedly be the subject of serious books.

But the cliff notes will say he rejected Trump's pressure and faced down the threats shouted by Trumpets of "Hang Mike Pence."

He did the right thing and he deserves praise for doing so. It's not a matter of him just carrying out what the Constitution says the vice president should do with electoral votes.

He could have sided with Trump and the insurrectionist mob - and pushed forward into an uncertain future (I claim copyright over that movie idea 馃檪).

But instead he sided with our Constitution and in doing so helped save the United States of America.

@beckyromero He did... but his motives don't seem as pure as you imply and I'm not certain history won't question his situational ethics, lack of judgment until the very end, and decision not to remove an insurrectionist.

In my book, he did enough to shed his "Boy-Mike" status, but not enough to redeem himself. With that being said, taking on the role of President at the end, helping to promote the image of a peaceful transfer of power, and being decent to the incoming Administration is noteworthy.

It just might not be enough to give him favourable treatment, nor should it be. He came close, by words and deeds, to selling out the American Dream. His recklessness should not go unnoticed.

@beckyromero @MarkPaul I think Pence will go down in history exactly as he was--a sycophant of the highest order who, nonetheless, balked at Trump's final depravity. And yes, he does deserve credit for doing that.

Pence actually really impressed me over the course of the last year. It seemed like he actually took his coronavirus gig seriously too, but was repeatedly hamstrung but the clown in chief. Out of the entire administration, he's the only one to come out looking good.

@QuixoticSoul Deanna Troix has a different perspective
Pence will always be seen as a bobble head doll grinning, nodding and looking lovingly at Trump

The verdict of history will look far more kindly upon him because of his actions on January 6th, 2021.

Faced down? When?

When he didn鈥檛 do the thing he had no Constitutional authority to do?

Sorry. I don鈥檛 agree with this assessment.

@JoeyFoxx

Think of what would have happened had he done as Il Duce wanted.

@beckyromero it鈥檚 like asking a kid to ride a bike without a bike.

There was no way for Pence to follow through without looking silly.

It鈥檚 weird when we congratulate people fir not being Ted Cruz or Lady G.

Evidently, the bar has been lowere that much...

trump called him out as a p***y so he has to overcome that mud in the face.

All things are possible but it can be impossible to see inside someone鈥檚 heart.

@Pfuzylogic I鈥檓 going by his actions.

I believe Pence is saved by his confession of Jesus.
