Biden to sign executive orders rejoining Paris climate accord and rescinding Muslim ban on first day

Good, that shit was really goddamn stupid, but at least pretty easy to fix.

This is inspiring... for the world. America is coming back!
Strictgram · 70-79, C
@MarkPaul Great, let's hinder our economy while China and India do zilch.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@Strictgram That's the spirit. Keep the lies coming.
Strictgram · 70-79, C
@MarkPaul Guess you're not familiar with the terms. Check them out and get back to me. Take off the blinders.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@Strictgram Apparently, you're not familiar with the issue. Educate yourself; no need to get back to me. Leave your pettiness back in Hidin' Insurrectionist Baby-trump's America... where it belongs.
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@Strictgram Ironically, China went all-in on green tech, and is essentially the world leader at this point - a position they only improved during the Trump era. Zilch my ass.

And that's without addressing the entirely fair argument that the West grew rich on rapid industrialization and pollution, but now wants the developing world to hold back. That's blatantly true, you know.
ViciDraco · 41-45, M
@QuixoticSoul a lot of people keep claiming china will crash well before they reach a point they should be feared as a superpower. But I think a lot of people are underestimating them. The short sighted economic cycles the west has gotten ourselves stuck in doesn't seem to be understanding the long term returns that china's infrastructure and energy projects can bring them.
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@ViciDraco I think at this point it would be very stupid to underestimate China, they have been extremely smart about the long game for the last decade or two.

@QuixoticSoul Were you aware that the Chinese are planting trees faster than the rest of the world combined?
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@novaguy2u No, but it's pretty clear that China is looking to seize the initiative in this entire sphere - at the exact moment when we're floundering and pulling back from our traditional leadership positions.
novaguy2u · 70-79, M
@QuixoticSoul Why wouldn't they! Trump (with the support of his spineless acolytes) have created a vacuum in a previously solid Western alliance. Any country sufficiently powerful to take advantage of this situation would be stupid not to take advantage of it. The Russians would probably be looking to do the same, but are less focussed and organised than the Chinese. It's a simple rule of geopolitics.

@MarkPaul does the world want america back though...
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@NoSugar Yes.
