As a non-American I can only say that this is great news. We need to protect the environment and stop climate change and having one of the most industrialised and influential nations back on board is a great step in the right direction. It also marks a new age where America is no longer a rogue state led by a psychotic fascist hell bent on destroying.... everything... and now a force for progress. You never know, the world may yet be saved, from covid, climate change and general insanity.

@Nomoretomorrow will China be joining the Paris accord
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@ididntknow China never left.

This is inspiring... for the world. America is coming back!

@QuixoticSoul Why wouldn't they! Trump (with the support of his spineless acolytes) have created a vacuum in a previously solid Western alliance. Any country sufficiently powerful to take advantage of this situation would be stupid not to take advantage of it. The Russians would probably be looking to do the same, but are less focussed and organised than the Chinese. It's a simple rule of geopolitics.

Yay! Let's continue to spend money we don't have and let towelheads rip us off again.🙄

@SpiritualMan
But after sifting through databases, media reports, court documents, and other sources, Alex Nowrasteh, an immigration expert at the libertarian Cato Institute, has arrived at a striking finding: Nationals of the seven countries singled out by Trump have killed zero people in terrorist attacks on U.S. soil between 1975 and 2015.
Zero.
Zero.
windinhishair · 70-79, M
@QuixoticSoul That means more people were killed by the Trump Cult just this month than by the seven nations sanctioned by Trump over 30 years.

@SpiritualMan @windinhishair It's amazing the number of "Christians", whose sins are "washed away in the blood of Christ", who are actually among the most hateful, intolerant, judgmental, and downright racist individuals it's ever been my misfortune to come across. @SpiritualMan is clearly one of them. That's obvious by his postings and his replies to your well-reasoned comments @windinhishair

Great. This will make a huge difference for the United States. 🤦🏻♀️
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@Keepitsimple Nah, but it's a symbolic step in the right direction - and the original policies only hurt us, they need to go.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@QuixoticSoul If only Covid and the economy were that simple. But credit where it is due.😷

I thought the first day was going to be an all-day party for the world leaders as friends and foes alike celebrated the end of insanity

Many of Trump's travesties will require but an Executive Order to reverse, or will be easily fixed.

@QuixoticSoul do you have solar on your home. I priced going solar 11/2020. $90000 after rebates and credits. Add the interest almost tripled the cost. Then add the batteries so you never lose power another $15k + interest and replacement costs every 7 years. If you are filthy rich you can afford solar and feel good about helping the planet. Give me a coal fired electric plant.
